The 10 Dumbest Tag Team Names Ever
While the name of a tag team is not a make-or-break deal for the success of a partnership in wrestling, there is no doubt that there have been some very silly ones over the years in this industry. Whether it is the wrestlers themselves or the company that they work for which creates the name, having a great one can give someone a headstart.

When a team has a goofy or dumb name, many people instantly start to not take them seriously, which is not what any wrestlers want to deal with. However, there have been plenty of bad ones over the years that have left people laughing and cringing.
10 Dynamic Dudes
This was a tag team from WCW that saw Shane Douglas work with Johnny Ace, who is now best known as John Laurinaitis and for his behind-the-scenes work with WWE. However, this tag team name wasn't a good one and it was impossible to take them seriously.

Things weren't done in a comedic manner with the duo, which could have possibly saved this name from being a disaster. However, it just made them seem very uncool even though that was the complete opposite of what the intention was.
9 The B-Team
The problem with this tag team name is quite obvious. Hearing the name instantly makes them sound like a tag team that you shouldn't want to cheer for. It makes them seem like an ordinary duo that isn't at the level of WWE.
While this was meant as a joke and it was playing up on how Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel had been booked before this, it still didn't make them seem like a good team. The reality was, they were able to get over brilliantly for a brief period, but the name was ridiculous.
8 The Funkadactyls
It isn't just the men's tag team division that has been given dumb tag team names, as the women's division has suffered this fate as well. The Funkadactyls was a name that played off the fact Brodus Clay came from 'Planet Funk,' but it just made no sense.
The name was very silly, but Naomi and Cameron didn't let it hinder them as they were certainly popular with audiences throughout their run. However, the women's tag team division never actually existed while they were an official team.
7 ShoMiz
Everything about ShoMiz was an obvious copy of Jeri-Show, except none of it was as good, mainly because it didn't feel authentic. The name was utterly dumb for this partnership and was another case of WWE throwing their names together and hoping for the best.
With Jeri-Show, things made sense because it was close to Jericho, and it was obviously a play on words. ShoMiz sounds a lot like "showbiz," but WWE did this routine before.
6 Tekno Team 2000
Another dreadful tag team name that was created came from WWE with Tekno Team 2000. The fact that the company even put a date on the end of the name added to the stupidity of things, especially if they had remained a team past the new millennium. Back then, putting "2000" at the end of products was a marketing tactic, but it just didn't work with this duo.

The name just didn't work and nobody cared about it at all. It made them seem very goofy from the start and the attempt to be slightly technological didn't work as wearing lots of silver and having Tekno in the name wasn't enough.
5 Ding Dongs
Nothing about the name Ding Dongs sounds serious and while wrestling likes to be entertaining and push the silly aspect of things, this WCW team took things to another level. Wrestling fans just couldn't buy into the duo.
The outfits and the fact that they would ring bells as they made their way to the ring also didn't help get them over. But even if they had been an amazing in-ring duo, this name would still have been dumb.
4 Slater Gator
The pairing of Heath Slater and Titus O'Neil was a random one, to begin with, but WWE certainly didn't help them with their name. While it was supposed to be fun, it just never caught on that way and audiences really didn't like it.
There is no wonder that the tag team didn't go on to have much success as a pair because they simply didn't do anything in terms of storylines. But the name itself didn't work and left fans instantly judging them as a pair.
3 The Dicks
This terrible tag team name is fairly self-explanatory, but the former SmackDown tag team wasn't given much of a chance when they were thrown this name. It was a completely ridiculous one and while it could have had a place in the Attitude Era, by 2005 things had slightly moved on.
They were attempting to play Chippendale dancers, which was supposed to be how the name was linked. However, the reality was that this was a dumb name that went too far, with nobody being able to buy into them as a team.
2 The Shining Stars
Primo and Epico were talented wrestlers, but throughout their entire careers, they were given dreadful names and terrible gimmicks. However, the worst of the bunch was The Shining Stars, which was something that just never clicked.

The name just made no sense at all and nobody cared about it, which was mainly because the entire gimmick was about being from Puerto Rico. It didn't work and the name itself was absolutely awful.
1 The Viking Experience
Erik and Ivar have had several names throughout their careers, both in and out of WWE. However, The Viking Experience has to be one of the worst names of all time, with this being one that nobody liked despite WWE's best attempts to get it over.
Everything about it was too corny and over the top. The two men come out dressed as Vikings, so it wasn't really needed to explain what they are. While WWE was smart enough to make a slight change to this in order for it to work, this particular name was dumb.
