Sheamus' First 10 WWE PPV Matches, Ranked From Worst To Best

Sheamus has been a part of WWE's main roster for almost 13 years now. Debuting in 2009, Sheamus has had a pretty successful WWE career winning multiple championships, including stints as the top champion in the company. He is nearing the end of his career but is still a very solid and reliable worker.

Over the years, Sheamus has taken a backseat and remains underrated by most fans. He has given us many great matches and been part of great wrestling moments. Let's go all the way back to the beginning of his career, and take a look at his initial PPV matches in WWE.

10 Vs. Randy Orton - Royal Rumble 2010

Sheamus v Orton 2010

Sheamus and Randy Orton have wrestled each other several times, however they never seemed to develop good chemistry. At Royal Rumble, the two men faced each other for the WWE Championship with Sheamus being the defending champion.

This was Sheamus' first televised WWE Championship defense, and it wasn't really an ideal one. It was very boring, and the slow pace didn't help. In the end, Cody Rhodes attacked Sheamus, which meant he defended the title bout via disqualification, which was pretty lame.

9 Vs. Randy Orton - SummerSlam 2010

Orton v Sheamus SummerSlam 2010

Another Sheamus vs. Randy Orton match in the list. Once again, it was evident in their clash at SummerSlam 2010 that the two don't have chemistry. At the Biggest Party of the Summer, the two once again collided for Sheamus' WWE championship.

There's nothing very wrong with the match, but it was just quite boring like the previous entry. It never seemed to go to the next level and wasn't interesting enough. Furthermore, the contest lasted for about 19 minutes, but ended in a DQ which no one liked.

8 Team Miz Vs. Team Morrison - Survivor Series 2009

This was Sheamus' first PPV match in WWE. In the opening match of Survivor Series 2009, Sheamus teamed up with The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Jack Swagger as part of Team Miz to take on Team Morrison, which was formed by John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Finlay, Matt Hardy and Shelton Benjamin.

The match lasted for about 21 minutes and was decent enough, but never seemed very exciting and was overshadowed by the rest of the matches from the event. Sheamus had a pretty strong performance as he eliminated two wrestlers, and was also a survivor alongside Drew McIntyre and The Miz.

7 Vs. John Cena - TLC 2009

Quickly after debuting on Raw, Sheamus got a WWE Championship opportunity against John Cena in the inaugural TLC PPV. The two clashed in a Tables match. The result of the match initially seemed very predictable as no one thought WWE would give the title to Sheamus this early.

At the event though, Sheamus surprised everyone as he pushed John Cena through a table to win the WWE Championship after a decent contest. The win came out of nowhere, and didn't sit well with many people. It has been said over the years that it was a wrong decision and Sheamus wasn't ready to win the title, but it was definitely very shocking.

6 Vs. John Cena Vs. Edge Vs. Randy Orton - Fatal 4-Way

In the main event of the first-ever Fatal 4-Way PPV, John Cena defended his WWE Championship against Sheamus, Edge and Randy Orton in a fatal four-way match. The contest was an average four-way match with not much memorable.

Towards the finish of the bout, the newly-formed faction, The Nexus interfered during the match, and attacked the participants in the match. In the meantime, Sheamus pinned John Cena and won the WWE Championship for a second time

5 Vs. Triple H - WrestleMania 26

This was Sheamus' WrestleMania debut. The rivalry between Triple H and Sheamus started when Sheamus was taken out by Triple H in an Elimination Chamber match. This led Sheamus to attacking Triple H on Raw, and he challenged The Game to a match at 'Mania.

At the show, the two collided in a pretty solid affair. Both wrestlers played their roles quite well which resulted in a fun contest. However, just when people thought Sheamus would win, Triple H hit the Pedigree on him to win the contest.

4 Vs. John Cena - Money In The Bank 2010

In the main event of the first-ever Money in the Bank PPV, Sheamus renewed his rivalry with John Cena as the two clashed inside a steel cage, this time with Sheamus as the defending champion. The match lasted for 23 minutes, which is a bit too long, but the two men did a good job.

The match did get boring at times, but it also had some cool moments and hard-hitting stuff. In the end, The Nexus got involved which allowed Sheamus to escape with the title. The finish was quite exciting, and arguably the best part of the match.

3 Vs. Triple H - Extreme Rules 2010

Sheamus vs Triple H Extreme Rules

As talked about previously, Sheamus lost to Triple H at 'Mania 26. This obviously made Sheamus angry, and he wasn't done yet with Triple H. On Raw, Sheamus attacked Triple H with a lead pipe which resulted in another match between the two at the Extreme Rules event.

This time, the two men fought each other in a Street Fight. The match was personal and brutal and Triple H sold the effects of the lead pipe pretty well. In the end, Sheamus hit multiple Brogue Kicks on Triple H and actually won the match. Sheamus looked very strong coming out of this match, and many believe this should have been their original match at WrestleMania.

2 WWE Title Elimination Chamber Match - Elimination Chamber 2010

EC 2010

The participants in this Elimination Chamber match were Kofi Kingston, Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and the WWE Champion, Sheamus. From a chamber match standards, this match wasn't that great, but it was far from being the worst.

The slow pace of the match was the biggest negative which resulted in many dull and boring moments. The match did pick up during the final minutes. All wrestlers were eliminated quickly in the end. It seemed rushed to some, but it was exciting. Sheamus had a good outing as he lasted for 28 minutes out of the 30 minutes of the match. John Cena won the match by last making Triple H tap out.

1 WWE Title Six-Pack Elimination Challenge Match - Night Of Champions 2010

Orton Night of Champions 2010 Cropped

The participants in the match where Edge, John Cena, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Wade Barrett and the WWE Champion, Sheamus. The match had a lot of great talent involved, and as expected, the contest ended up being great.

The match had fun and enjoyable action and the elimination stipulation elevated the match quality. Sheamus had a strong performance as he was the last wrestler eliminated in the match. The Nexus obviously got eliminated during the contest, but Randy Orton came out on top winning the WWE championship.
