Rob Van Dam Says He Was One Of The 'Strongest Influences' On Current Generation Of Wrestlers
WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam is one of the most influential pro-wrestlers alive ... and he knows it!
During a recent chat with the folks over at Sportskeeda Wrestling, RVD was asked which current member of WWE's roster is the next Rob Van Dam.
“Almost all of them,” RVD replied. “I think that I was one of the strongest influences on today’s generation. A lot of fans, even if they think they remember the main event big pushes of Stone Cold and The Rock, sometimes when you mention RVD and you think about it you’re like, ‘yeah, he was my favorite.’ I always get told I was everybody’s favorite wrestler and it was because I was different, so that’s also very rewarding.”
As we previously covered, RVD also revealed that he recently offered his services to WWE prior to the company's Royal Rumble premium live event. The former WWE Champion added that he's willing to listen to offers.

"I don’t have any plans for [a return], but I would consider any situation from any company. I would definitely consider it. If it’s right, it’s right," he said.
Van Dam's rise to Superstardom began in Paul Heyman's ECW back in 1996. He would become a member of the WWE roster in 2001 where he would cement his status as a pro-wrestling legend.
RVD beat William Regal for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 18. He later unified the European and Hardcore Titles. In 2006 Van Dam won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 22. He would cash in his contract and challenge WWE Champion John Cena for the title at ECW One Night Stand. With the rowdy New York crowd on his side, RVD was able to defeat Cena and begin his only reign as WWE Champion.
"The Whole F**king Show" took his rightful place in the WWE Hall Of Fame during the 2021 Induction Ceremony.
