RK-Bro Tournament Delayed Due To Montez Ford Issue
WWE made reference to the fact an injury was delaying the RK-Bronament during Monday's broadcast of Raw. It wasn't made clear who was injured, only that the tournament would be pushed back by a couple of weeks and as a result, WWE ran an angle where Otis and Chad Gable got the better of Randy Orton and Riddle during the show.
Dave Meltzer offered an update on Wrestling Observer Radio about why the tournament is being delayed and noted that the reason the finals of the tournament -- a match that was supposed to be between The Street Profits against Rey and Dominik Mysterio -- was held off until the December 27th show is because Montez Ford is out. WWE announced that both teams were injured but “Something’s up with Ford,” Meltzer said. “I don’t know what it is."
Meltzer noted there could be a problem with Dominik or Rey but reiterated, "For sure there’s something with Ford so they couldn’t do the match. I don’t know if it’s injury, illness, whatever. I’ll probably know tomorrow but legit, they couldn’t do that match." Angelo Dawkins wrestled singles matches against AJ Styles over the weekend.

Opportunity For Otis and Gable
With the quick shift, WWE went with a push for Otis. He defeated Riddle easily in a singles match and then took out Orton with a big elbow after Orton tried to land the RKO. It appears WWE is trying to create another legitimate threat for the tag team titles in the absence of the tournament and one has to wonder if perhaps they'll add Gable and Otis to any match that comes after the tournament ends.
As for whether or not the Finals of the tournament will lead to a match at Day 1 between the tag champs and the winners, it's unclear if anything has changed based on original plans.
