Having a female star face off against a male star has been done in WWE before. It's been a long time and it's certainly not something the company promotes like they used to during the Attitude Era, but that isn't stopping Rhea Ripley from making public her bucket-list item of facing off with one of WWE's top male stars in a match. Ripley spoke during an interview about her favorite stars growing up and she wants to face one in a match -- that being CM Punk.

Ripley, the WWE Women's World Champion, recently shared her thoughts on various topics during an interview with the "BWGS Pod." Among the subjects discussed, Ripley expressed her desire to wrestle CM Punk, despite his current hiatus due to a torn triceps. She noted:

I would like to face Punk (Ripley said after it was mentioned that the match is still a possibility). Especially with the way that he did his promos and the way that he just did everything. It was always entertaining and I feel like if I were to step into a storyline with any of the three, I would learn so much and it would definitely help skyrocket Rhea Ripley to the next level sort of thing.”

Reflecting on her childhood favorites, which included Triple H and The Miz, Ripley acknowledged her admiration for CM Punk. She emphasized the challenge of choosing among the three legends to face in their prime but leaned towards Punk. And, with all due respect to The Miz, wrestling Punk would be a much bigger career move for Ripley at this point in her career. Punk is one of the top babyfaces in WWE and just returned to the company after a stint in AEW. There is a ton of buzz surrounding him and a match between Punk and Ripley could easily main event a premium live event.

And, as Punk works his way through the roster when he returns from injury, there is no doubt he'll inevitably cross paths with Judgment Day.

WWE is Unlikely to Go There

As cool an idea as that would be, fans might only ever get a tease of friction between these two. A match seems unlikely considering WWE doesn't often offer intergender matches and Punk has a ton of potential dream matches on his plate before a bout with Ripley would be under consideration. Down the road? Who knows. As they say in WWE, never say never.
