Randy Orton Went to Vince McMahon Or Triple H Every Week To Try To Keep The Revival On TV

FTR, formerly known as The Revival, have revealed Randy Orton was always in their corner when they were with WWE.

The tag team got their release from Vince McMahon's company and have since joined All Elite Wrestling. While they're pretty happy to have moved on, they left some good friends behind, Orton being one of them.

Dax Harwood, known as Scott Dawson during his time at WWE, spoke to Jim Cornette on the Jim Cornette Experience podcast recently and revealed Orton had the team's back all the way. The way he sees it, #FTRKO could have been a lot bigger than it was but Orton faced a constant uphill battle trying to convince the company to keep them on TV.

"With Randy, who has become one of our mentors and one of our really close friends, we talked to him every single day," he revealed. "He fought for us so hard to get us on TV with him every single week because he believed in our work ethic and he believed in what we brought to the table. And we watched him go to Vince every single week, or Hunter or whoever, and say, ‘we gotta keep this up’."

Randy's Efforts Were Ultimately In Vain

The Viper was fortunate to see his concerns taken seriously for some time, yet #FTRKO fizzed out before the wrestlers were able to really establish themselves as a WWE television staple.

Of course, all of that is behind them now. AEW offers very little resistance in terms of creative freedom and they definitely do not have to parade about as comedy characters - although The Young Bucks will.

We could also see the introduction of a six-man tag title in AEW - there are plans to bring new titles to the fore next year - if that comes to fruition, it will be interesting to see if FTR takes on a third man to that end.
