Rajon Rondo Wants To Make History As First Player To Win Title In L.A. & Boston
Rajon Rondo is looking to make history as the first-ever player to win a ring for both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.
The two franchises have a storied rivalry, albeit mostly dormant nowadays. And out of the 33 players to wear both jerseys during their careers, only Clyde Lovellette has won a championship for both ball clubs.
When Lovellette won a ring with the Lakers, however, they were still the Minneapolis Lakers, so Rondo does have a chance to complete the feat and has voiced his intention to become the first player to win rings with both organizations.

"I need another ring," the guard said after Monday's practice, via ESPN. "It's simple. I want to be the first to win for the two most historic franchises that's ever put a basketball to use. So, I got one in Boston, and I'd love to get one with this organization."
Rondo won his first and only ring with the Celtics back in 2008, beating a Kobe Bryant-led Lakers team 4-2 in the final. But, having left the Celtics in 2014, he has bounced around the NBA, playing for the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans.
The 32-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Lakers during the summer, becoming part of a giant project involving LeBron James. And he claims to be impressed with what he's seen since his arrival in L.A.
"You expect certain teams, certain franchises [to be like this]," he continued. "Obviously, playing for Boston that was probably the best experience I've had since I've [been in the league]. And now here. Obviously, all the teams I've played for, they do have great organizations, but none touch this.
"I love what I've seen. We got some dogs. We got a lot of dogs. And we got a lot of young, great talent, and we got the best player in the world. We got some good chemistry, a good mix, and we got to find a way to put it together.
"I love our young guys, our commitment, the way they study the game, their willingness to learn. I was telling Bron the other day, we were on the plane and I've never seen damn near 12 guys watching film.
"As a team, I haven't seen that many guys combined in the last four [or] five seasons, I think. So, it was very refreshing to see. Understanding that this team is committed."
Rondo also talked up Lakers head coach Luke Walton, lauding his experience and character.
"He's a champ. He's a champ," He declared. "He's been around for a long time. He's been around so many great players, even [those who played] 30-40 years ago, he's been around those guys. So his demeanor and laid-back character, it just fits in as far as how the dynamics of this organization is run."NEXT: Rumor: MARK WAHLBERG TO BLAME FOR JIMMY BUTLER DRAMA
