Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How To Get The Black Augurite

Black Augurite is an item needed to evolve Scyther into Kleavor in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It can be found in the wild by digging or purchased.

The Black Augurite is a new evolutionary item introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to evolve Scyther into Kleavor. Similar to the release of the Alola and Galar region, the Hisui region continues the trend of introducing new versions of older Pokémon. While the Hisui region has strong similarities to the Sinnoh region of the future, many of the Pokémon that populate this world originate from there. These new forms build on older Pokémon, giving them new typings, strengths, and weaknesses. Amongst these new Pokémon is another evolution for Scyther, a classic Bug-type Pokémon from Red and Blue.

With Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Scyther now has two different evolutions. Initially, it would only evolve into Scizor, a Steel- and Bug-type evolution that joined the series in Pokémon Gold and Silver more than 20 years ago. Now, Scyther has a different path it can take, changing into the new Pokémon, Kleavor. This is a Rock- and Bug-type Pokémon that acts as one of the Hisui region's Noble Pokémon. When mysterious lightning causes it to act out in a frenzy, it is up to the player to calm them down. Doing this doesn't actually add the Pokémon to the player's Pokédex. Instead, the trainer will need to evolve their own.

Scyther can evolve into Kleavor after being exposed to Black Augurite. It's brand new to the series, making its debut in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and only has one purpose, to evolve Scyther into Kleavor. On the bright side, there is no trading required to evolve Scyther into Kleavor. Just give it a Black Augurite, and it will be immediately ready to evolve.

How To Get Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

• Battle Drops: Defeating Graveler in battle has a chance to make it drop Black Augurite. Also, they will occasionally appear from a shaking Tumblestone ore in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
• Space-Time Distortions: These will randomly appear around the map and spawn tons of rare Pokémon. Black Augurite has the chance to appear in one of these while they are active.
• Ursaluna Tracking: After unlocking the ability to mount Ursaluna, its ability allows it to scan for hidden treasure. There is a small chance for it to find Black Augurite.

To find a Scyther to evolve, trainers can go to the Grandtree Arena in Obsidian Fieldlands. It will appear in the same location where players initially battled Kleavor in the story. It's required to have a Kleavor to complete the Pokédex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and to also acquire the Shiny Charm. While visiting this area, make sure to capture at least two Scythers as one can evolve into Kleavor, while the other can use a Metal Coat to evolve into Scizor. Furthermore, clearing both of these Pokémon's research tasks is also required to 100% the game.
