Shane McMahon is one of the most respected members in WWE, both by fans and wrestlers alike. Unlike his father's reputation, Shane McMahon has always received favorable feedback from everyone he worked with throughout the years.

While his on-screen character might sometimes resemble his father's traits, Shane McMahon is reportedly the complete opposite in real life. He treated every member of WWE's crew with respect regardless of their positions, which gained him tons of friends.
10 Loved - Raven
There are multiple reasons WWE had heat with their superstars in the past, and Raven had perhaps one of the flimsiest backgrounds behind landing in Vince McMahon's bad side.
The former 27-time Hardcore Champion was reportedly good friends with Shane McMahon, and the two would spend late nights partying on multiple occasions, which didn't go well with Shane's father. Vince McMahon apparently lost it when Shane called him while he was out with Raven. The Chairman's anger turned towards Raven, and he found himself in Mr. McMahon's dog house after the incident.
9 Hated - Lex Luger
Lex Luger could have made it big in WWE during his first run with the promotion from 1993 to 1995. Vince McMahon also had plans for him to win the WWE Championship, but he screwed things up for himself by bragging about it to a writer while being drunk at a bar.
His remaining time with WWE was never the same, and he took things too far by jumping ship to WCW without even informing Vince McMahon, and Shane McMahon didn't take a liking to his actions.
Bruce Prichard revealed on his podcast that Luger gave him and Shane McMahon a cold hello at the last episode of Nitro which even fueled the fire.
8 Loved - Tommy Dreamer
ECW legend Tommy Dreamer is one of Shane McMahon's closest friends in the pro-wrestling business. The two had apparently worked together in getting Shane trained up before his high-profile Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.
But their friendship dates back a long time, as Dreamer himself revealed after WWE introduced the Raw Underground segments that he has fought Shane McMahon for real in warehouses on multiple occasions.
Shane McMahon had also reportedly given Dreamer's number to actor Luke Perry who asked the hardcore legend to check out his son's work, who is of course, Jungle Boy.
7 Hated - Bret Hart
There are different stories from different people's perspectives whenever there's a conversation about the infamous Montreal Screwjob. While most people would back Bret Hart's decision to refuse to drop the WWE Championship to Shawn Michaels at the 1997 Survivor Series, some are in support of Vince McMahon.

Shane McMahon was always behind his father's decision to pull off the screwjob and claimed that Bret Hart should have accepted to drop the title as he was jumping ship to WCW and Vince McMahon was doing everything in his power to safeguard his promotion's reputation.
6 Loved - AJ Styles
With his commendable work ethic and exceptional in-ring skills, AJ Styles has become one of the most respected performers in the industry across all promotions, and it's no surprise that the former two-time WWE Champion became good friends with Shane McMahon.
They had a high-profile match at WrestleMania 33, and Styles' in-ring work helped Shane McMahon have one of the best matches of his career, which earned him the latter's respect. They even had high praises for each other during an episode of Table for 3, which saw them having a great conversation with WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
5 Hated - Jeff Jarrett
Jeff Jarrett was not a friendly name among the McMahon household owing to his uneventful exit from WWE back in 1999. Jarrett's contract had already expired, and since he had decided to leave for WCW, Vince McMahon asked him to drop the Intercontinental Championship to Chyna at No Mercy 1999.
Jarrett used his contract situation as leverage and demanded $3,00,000 to do the job. Vince McMahon had to give in to his demands and pay the price, and Jarrett lost the title to Chyna at the planned event.
However, he didn't get it the easy way as he had an altercation with Shane McMahon backstage, which almost turned physical. Hardcore Holly recalled the incident where Shane was cursing out Jarrett backstage, but they were separated before things took a wrong turn.
4 Loved - Kurt Angle
Fans still remember Kurt Angle suplexing Shane McMahon through the plated glass stage set multiple times, which legitimately injured the latter. Theur Street Fight took place at King of the Ring 2001, which also saw Kurt Angle almost suffer a cracked collarbone, but that incident surprisingly became the starting point in their real-life friendship.
WWE also featured their friendship in a network documentary where they were seen sharing a heartfelt moment and also joking about their brutal match. They also discussed the incident while heaping praises on each other during their Table for 3 appearances as well.
3 Hated - Randy Savage
Wrestling fans are familiar with the rumors about Stephanie McMahon having a relationship with the late "Macho Man" Randy Savage. It remains an urban legend to this day with contradicting reports every time there's a mention of the story.

However, a story shared by an ex-WWE magazine writer named Brian Solomon might prove there could be some truth behind the rumors. He revealed that he saw Shane McMahon poking a Randy Savage poster pinned to the wall as hard as he could and stepped on it once it fell off the wall. There might be a different story behind Shane McMahon's hateful action, but the ongoing rumor might be the most plausible reason.
2 Loved - The Undertaker
When conversations about The Undertaker's match at WrestleMania 32 began, The Deadman came up with the idea to have Shane McMahon as his opponent. He even went on to call Shane McMahon himself to discuss the idea.
The match turned out to be a huge hit, and Shane McMahon revealed that he felt so comfortable working with The Undertaker owing to their long-time friendship. He claimed that he could take more liberties with The Undertaker because of their friendship and that he even kicked him hard in the chest during the match.
1 Hated - Triple H
It's no surprise that Triple H's name made this list because fans are well-aware of the fact that Shane McMahon and The Game never saw eye-to-eye right from the beginning.
Shane McMahon was also not a fan of Stephanie McMahon dating Triple H during the early stages of their relationship, and the issues grew even worse when it became apparent that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would be the ones to take control of WWE after Vince McMahon.
They might have worked together on multiple occasions, and might have to see each other at various family gatherings, but that doesn't mean that they have put their differences aside.
