Paige Blames Patrick for Bernie's Death
Seeking Sister Wife star Paige McGee blames her brother, Patrick, for her husband Bernie's sudden death in an emotional Facebook message.
Seeking Sister Wife star Paige McGee is now blaming her brother, Patrick Marble, for her husband Bernie's sudden death. The TV personality recently shared her feelings in an emotionally charged Facebook post.
Paige and Bernie starred together on Season 2 of TLC's Seeking Sister Wife, which follows the lives of people who are looking to explore polygamy. Per the couple's bio on the network's website, the McGees wanted to try to find a sister wife after their Mississippi home burned down. However, they ultimately never found a woman they wanted to marry into their family due to Paige's admitted jealousy issues. While she said she was working on them and that the couple was going to try again, they unfortunately never got the chance. Now, fans are stunned following the news of Bernie's sudden passing.
Paige confirmed to TMZ that Bernie overheated and felt ill while out riding his bicycle. He called Paige to come pick him up, but by the time she arrived, EMTs were already there attempting to revive him. At that point, Paige said she knew it was too late. According to the coroner, Bernie died of a stroke and a heart attack, and he was only 41 years old. Now, a devastated Paige is speaking out about what (or who) she sees as the real cause of Bernie's death - referring to her brother, Patrick. The TV star said in a heartbreaking message on Facebook that she believes the stress Patrick caused her and her husband is really the reason for Bernie's sudden passing. Patrick had previously accused Paige and Bernie of harassing him and had the couple arrested on felony stalking charges, which carried with them a serious sentence of up to one year in jail. With the court date for sentencing quickly approaching, she said (via Facebook):
"He did this! Patrick’s constant lies and attacks against us caused this! Patrick and my mother having us arrested for not doing a damn thing wrong did this! We were financially put out for having to hire lawyers, investigators, and missing work for this bullsh*t. Patrick Marble has admitted numerous times he would not stop until we were fired from the show. Well, that never happened so he continued his bullying and harassment. Bernie has been under so much stress and the stress of going to court this coming Wednesday with fear of 1 year in jail wore on Bernie. Bernie was so upset the day we were arrested because our sons had to watch us being taken away. Every night since then, Bernie has said over and over, the look on Johnny’s face. He just couldn’t get over that. Patrick Marble and I do not have a relationship. We never have. Patrick Marble… YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND AND I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL.. And you better stay the HELL away from me and my family!"
The Winder Family reached out via their Instagram (seen above) to offer their condolences for Bernie's untimely death. After a tragic fire, legal issues with her brother, and the sudden passing of her husband and father of her two kids, Paige is asking financial support by setting up a GoFundMe page for Bernie's memorial fund. In the wake of Bernie's death, Patrick told TMZ that he's dropping the stalking charges against Paige, adding that he's tried to reach out and reconcile, though it's been unsuccessful.
It's situations like these that prove that some of the "drama" in certain reality TV shows are more than exciting television. They're real-life issues with room for serious consequences that just so happen to be documented on television. In fact, another reality TV star, Dog the Bounty Hunter's Beth Chapman, passed away recently as well.
