NXT Halloween Havoc 2021 Guide: Match Card And Predictions
NXT might have undergone a massive revamp last month, but not everything about the brand has changed. At least one of the old WCW IPs the formerly black and gold brand has revived will live on through NXT 2.0 in the form of Halloween Havoc. The spookiest PPV on the calendar returns again later this month and below you'll find everything you need to know about the show.
Halloween Havoc is neither a PPV nor a TakeOver so will not be taking place at the weekend. It's a themed episode of NXT taking place on October 26, 2021. That also means you don't need a subscription to Peacock or the WWE Network to watch it. The show will air live on the USA Network, or whatever channel NXT airs in your region, from 8 pm until 10 pm EST on the date mentioned above. Below you'll find all the matches announced for the show so far.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship
A number of new stars have emerged from the woodwork since NXT became NXT 2.0. However, none has caused a bigger splash than Bron Breakker. Breakker won NXT 2.0's first-ever match, beating LA Knight. He has continued to build on that momentum since then and will challenge Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Title at Halloween Havoc.
As for who wins this one, that's a little tricky. The way WWE has been building brand new stars and doing very little with older ones since the launch of NXT 2.0, it really wouldn't be shocking to see Breakker win this one. Many will argue he isn't ready should that happen, but those same people likely made the same argument when he beat Knight.
Raquel Gonzalez vs. Mandy Rose for the NXT Women's Championship
Raquel Gonzalez has taken on a variety of opponents during her reign as NXT Women's Champion. She has never faced anyone like Mandy Rose, though. Especially not this version of Rose. The former main roster star has accrued a couple of followers and quickly ascended up NXT's ranks since returning to the brand, provoking the champ to the point that she's already getting a title shot.
Gonzalez versus the Rose of six months ago, this would have probably been a squash match in favor of the champ. The new and improved Rose, on the other hand, could well give Gonzalez a run for her money. Another one that could go either way, although the more likely scenario is Gonzalez retains in this one.
Io Shirai and Zoey Stark vs. Toxic Attraction vs. Pretty Savage for the NXT Women's Championships
As WWE breaks up all of the potential challengers for its Women's Tag Titles, NXT is creating what is shaping up to be a pretty competitive division. This match alone proves that as Toxic Attraction and Pretty Savage will attempt to dethrone the makeshift team of Zoey Stark and Io Shirai.
Shirai and Stark have had issues working together from the very start of this reign, so it seems almost nailed on they'll be losing the titles in this one. As for who will win them, that honor will likely go to Toxic Attraction. There's a very real chance all three members of the group are holding gold by the end of Halloween Havoc.
