Jinder Mahal Disagrees With The Notion That WWE Doesn't Create Stars

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal believes that, contrary to the opinions of some fans, WWE actually has a good track record when it comes to creating stars.

In a recent interview with Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes, Mahal touted some of the biggest stars in WWE history as evidence of the company's star-making abilities.

"So I grew up first the Hulk Hogan era. Then the new stars came Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Mankind, right? And the new stars came the next generation – Rock, Stone Cold and then the next generation after that, Randy Orton and John Cena, Batista, right? And then the next generation after that, I guess, is possibly my generation, right? Me, Drew McIntyre, Big E, Bobby Lashley, Kofi Kingston, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins," Mahal said when asked to share his thoughts on the notion that WWE doesn't create stars.

Mahal then said that the lineage of the WWE Championship since its inception speaks for itself, and mentioned that there have been ten new champions in the least 10 years. "And if you look back in the 70-year history, I believe we’re at number 53," he said. "Ten have happened in the ten years. I think that speaks for itself, that we are creating new stars."

To cap off his argument, Mahal gave a shoutout to two members of the NXT roster who he sees as future WWE Champions. "There’s Bron Breakker. You know, that’s a future WWE Champion, I believe," Mahal said. "LA Knight, blown away by him. This guy has everything, the look, the charisma, in-ring, everything. This guy could be WWE Champion. So I think the next generation is already coming.”

Interestingly, Mahal touted Knight as a star of the future despite being three years younger than the NXT star.

In case you're unfamiliar, Bron Breakker is the son of pro-wrestling legend Rick Steiner. He made his in-ring debut on the debut edition of NXT 2.0, where he got a huge win over the aforementioned LA Knight.
