How The Friendship Between Hulk Hogan & Jimmy Hart Began
During a guest appearance on the podcast "Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw," Jimmy Hart opened up about his close friendship with Hulk Hogan. The renowned WWE Hall of Famer reminisced about their initial encounter during their time in Memphis, but it was their shared journey in the WWE that solidified their bond. He said, “Well, I originally met him in Memphis. I didn’t know him that well. Then we met back in New York. He said, ‘I thought you were coming in to manage me.’ I said, ‘No. I’m coming in as a heel manager.’ I had King Kong Bundy, who I had in Memphis, and Jim Neidhart. Hulk and I didn’t travel a lot together because of the babyface/heel, but we bonded. I went to his house and did the little parties with him and helped set him up. Then we cut a wrestling album together, The Wrestling Boot Band. We always bonded doing stuff. Then he would take me along the trips that he would go on. He would say, ‘I want Jimmy Hart to be with me for this’ because he knew I didn’t drink, do drugs, or be around any of that stuff. With Hulk, we would always sit and talk about a certain thing. What do you think about whatever, and then try to make it better.”
A friendship formed years ago is still vibrant as Hart explained in an interview with Fightful.“Oh, my gosh. Of course, me and Hulkster still hanging out together. But we’re doing promotion for WWE. They bring me out for a lot of the major shows and I guess a lot of the people out there still remember ‘The Mouth of the South’ Jimmy Hart and a lot of the people I use to manage. So, it’s been great.”

Hulk Hogan & Jimmy Hart Have A Mutually Beneficial Friendship Based On Trust
In an episode of MLW's "MSL & SULLIVAN" show, former WCW star Kevin Sullivan shed light on the close relationship between Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart. Sullivan revealed that their bond was strengthened by financial arrangements, as Hart was being compensated by Hogan even during their time in WCW. Additionally, Sullivan emphasized that Hogan's deep trust in Hart played a significant role in their closeness, with Hogan considering Hart to be more reliable and trustworthy than anyone else in their professional circle. He said, "Besides him getting a payday from WCW, he was getting paid by Hulk. So I was inclined to use Jimmy because of the creative control. He wasn't getting a percentage. He was getting a flat fee. Every January 1st or 2nd he got a check written to him. Six figures."
Sullivan added, "Out of all the people Hulk had, he felt more secure with Jimmy because Jimmy had no vices. I think it happened in Memphis when Hulk first got there. Jimmy probably got him rides and he would ride with Hulk. When you finished Memphis, you had to go to Louisville, which was a brutal ride. 380 or 400 miles. He would get him a ride. He knew the places, this was the deep South, this was Kentucky Fried Chicken, Jimmy would talk the guy into grilling Hulk a dozen chicken breasts. That kind of thing. I think it started from there." No matter how it started or sustained, the stuff they did together was iconic.
