Every Member Of Fortune, Ranked From Worst To Best

TNA has featured some great factions over the years and Fortune was one of the best talent wise. Forming in 2010, the group was a modern-day Four Horsemen and featured TNA originals, all led out by the leader of the Horsemen himself, Ric Flair. At the start, Fortune was the elite of TNA.

However, as with any faction in professional wrestling, new members joined, and it became watered town as time went on. The faction went from the elite TNA originals in 2010 to a group that couldn't get along. By 2012, it was time for Fortune to shut down and TNA moved on to the next big thing. Through those two years, Fortune won six titles, including two world championships.

10 Rob Terry

Rob Terry arrived in TNA in 2009 as part of the British Invasion with Doug Williams and Brutus Magnus (Nick Aldis). Terry was the least talented of the three TNA newcomers. Despite this, Terry had a million-dollar body and ended up winning a title quickly in 2010 when he won the TNA Global Championship. In late 2010, Ric Flair hired Terry to serve as a bodyguard for Fortune, but sided with Immortal when the two TNA factions feuded.

9 Ric Flair

Ric Flair leads out Fortune.

Fortune was a modern-day Four Horsemen, and it was Nature Boy Ric Flair who formed the group. Flair, the face of the Horsemen for years in the NWA, built the group with the same structure as the original, bringing in a talented main event star, a top tag team, and a top-quality mid-carder, all managed by Flair himself. While Flair was the man who brought them together, he soon fell out of favor when the feud began with Immortal.

8 Desmond Wolfe

As a wrestler, Desmond Wolfe is one of the best of all-time. His run in Ring of Honor as Nigel McGuinness sits up there with Daniel Bryan, Jay Lethal, and Samoa Joe. When he arrived in TNA as Desmond Wolfe, he entered a feud with Kurt Angle and was a star in the making. It never happened. Desmond Wolfe was one of the first in the group, but Ric Flair put everyone through a test to determine their worth and eventually chose Frankie Kazarian over Wolfe and kicked him out of the faction.

7 Matt Morgan

Matt Morgan backstage in TNA.

Matt Morgan came in as muscle for Fortune, taking on the same role that Sid Vicious, Lex Luger, and Barry Windham held in the Four Horsemen. One month after Flair chose his four members of the team, he expanded the membership and invited Morgan into the group. He never seemed like the best fit. Two months after joining, Fortune turned on Morgan and kicked him out for showing concern and sympathy for Mr. Anderson, who suffered a concussion before a big match.

6 Douglas Williams

Doug Williams in TNA.

One month after Ric Flair formed Fortune, he added new members in Matt Morgan and Douglas Williams. While Morgan made sense as the big man of the group, Williams might seem confusing based on name value. However, he was the TNA X-Division Champion and helped Flair in a match against Jay Lethal.

Williams didn’t last any longer than Matt Morgan. The same night that Fortune turned on Morgan and beat him down, tensions rose between Williams and other members. Fortune eventually turned their back on Williams and he turned face and saved Morgan from another beat down.

5 Kazarian

Frankie Kazarian was one of the TNA originals that joined the group from the start. It was actually Kazarian that was the genesis of Fortune, with Ric Flair taking him in as a protégé and comparing him to Barry Windham. Kazarian and AJ Styles were not getting along, but Flair insisted they work together and soon Fortune formed with them as the foundation. As a member of Fortune, Kazarian won the X-Division Championship. Kazarian is a five-time X-Division Champion, while winning the tag titles three times.

4 Christopher Daniels

When Fortune formed, the obvious fourth member would have been Christopher Daniels. However, he wasn’t in TNA, previously leaving for Ring of Honor, and Kazarian took the spot. Eight months after the formation of Fortune, Daniels returned to TNA, and he was an easy addition. Daniels slipped right in to defend his friend AJ Styles after Immortal injured him.

It made sense that it was Daniels who led to Fortune’s eventual breakup as he grew arrogant and ended up feuding with Styles. Daniels was massively successful in TNA outside of Fortune, a four-time X-Division Champion and eight-time tag team champion.

3 James Storm

James Storm was an original member of Fortune, as Ric Flair brought in Beer Money to serve as the tag team specialists of the Four Horsemen-styled faction. It was a perfect choice as Beer Money was the best tag team in TNA.

During their run as part of Fortune, Beer Money ended up holding the TNA World Tag Team Championship for a record-setting 212 days. It was the team’s fourth title reign. James Storm also won the world title as a member of Fortune, beating Kurt Angle for the TNA World Championship.

2 Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode and James Storm were the tag team that made Fortune tick, and Ric Flair compared them to Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard. Beer Money were very successful, going on a 212-day title reign as TNA tag team champions. However, it was the dissolve of TNA’s greatest tag team that finally destroyed Fortune.

AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels were already feuding. What shocked fans was when James Storm won the world title and Bobby Roode turned on him and beat his former partner to win the world title, ending Fortune once and for all.

1 AJ Styles

AJ Styles was the man who started it all. Nature Boy Ric Flair was looking for the next big star he could get behind and it was Styles that he joined up with. Flair and Styles joined forces when Styles was the TNA World Champion and Flair formed the faction to help him. However, by the time they took on the name Fortune, Styles lost his title. Styles won the TNA TV title and remained the face of the faction until the day they imploded.
