Kanewill go down in history as one of the greatest big men to grace a WWE ring. The Big Red Machine has had a fantastic WWE career which has led him to become a WWE Hall of Famer. After Kane completed his Grand Slam set in the Attitude Era, Kane was a mainstay in the Ruthless Aggression Era, and he found himself as a member of Raw, SmackDown, and ECW. Kane wasn't always positioned as a main eventer, but he was still involved in a plethora of storylines. Some of the storylines make sense, but others were lackluster and peculiar.

11 Katie Vick Backstory

Triple H v Kane No Mercy 2002 Cropped

Two household names in the wrestling industry, Kane and Triple H were no strangers to feuding in the Attitude Era, but they renewed old hostilities in the Ruthless Aggression Era in one of the worst storylines in WWE history. Triple H was the World Heavyweight Champion and Kane was the reigning Intercontinental Champion with the duo colliding in a title unification match at No Mercy 2002 which Triple H won.

Triple H revealed that Kane had a girlfriend in the past called Katie Vick, and things got weird when Triple H wore a Kane mask and was pretending to be Kane whilst 'making love' to a mannequin. This was a low point in both men's careers, and their feud ended with Kane beating Triple H in a Casket match on Raw.

10 Feuding With An Imposter Kane

Kane v Imposter Kane Vengeance 2006 Cropped

Kane unmasked in 2003, and there was a tease that the Devil's Favorite Demon would remask once again three years later as he was pictured with a mask. However, an Imposter Kane showed up which led to Kane feuding with his former self.

Imposter Kane was Luke Gallows in disguise, and it was an underwhelming storyline. The duo clashed in a dreadful match at Vengeance 2006 which Imposter Kane won. On an episode of Raw, Kane viciously attacked the fake Kane, and the angle was dropped from WWE television.

9 May 19

Kane v Big Show Backlash 2006 Cropped

Kane was cast in See No Evil which was released on May 19, 2006, and it was turned into a storyline. Whenever the date "May 19" would be said, Kane would go into a frenzy, and the first instance was when he took out his frustrations on his former Tag Team Championship partner Big Show.

There was a hilarious moment when Shawn Michaels mentioned May 19 and Kane savagely beat up Rob Conway. The same situation happened on SmackDown when JBL forced the World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio to say it and Kane laid him out. Kane was spooked by this date as it was revealed that his family perished in a fire. The ending of the storyline saw the Imposter Kane show up, and Kane was a heel once again.

8 ECW Champion In Eight Seconds

Kane v Chavo Guerrero WrestleMania 24 Cropped

Kane won a number one contender's Battle Royal on the pre-show of WrestleMania 24 to become the number one contender for Chavo Guerrero's ECW Championship. In just eight seconds, Kane dethroned Chavo Guerrero in the sole ECW Championship bout to take place at WrestleMania.

Kane feuded with Chavo briefly, and the Brothers of Destruction reunited as Undertaker was engaged in a feud with Edge over the World Heavyweight Championship simultaneously. Nevertheless, this storyline was put to bed with Kane defeating Chavo in a rematch at Backlash 2008 to retain the ECW Championship.

7 Setting MVP On Fire

Kane v MVP Armageddon 2006 Cropped

In the fall of 2006, Kane moved to SmackDown, and he began feuding with MVP. Their rivalry would cross over with Undertaker's feud with Mr. Kennedy. This was a short-lived storyline, and they faced off in an Inferno match at Armageddon.

Inferno matches limit what wrestlers can do because of the fire that surrounds the ring. Nonetheless, they fought on the outside of the ring briefly and Kane set MVP's back on fire, which MVP sold for a few weeks after Armageddon.

6 It Wasn't My Fault

Kane v Snitsky Taboo Tuesday 2004 Cropped

Kane's feud with Snitsky came around after Snitsky struck Kane with a steel chair which caused him to fall onto his wife Lita who was pregnant, and she ultimately lost the baby. Snitsky said "It wasn't my fault" and Kane sought revenge.

They clashed at Taboo Tuesday 2004 with Snitsky overcoming Kane crushing his trachea in the process. That wasn't the end of their feud as Kane got his revenge by beating Snitsky at New Year's Revolution 2005 and in a Steel Cage match. This was an average feud and the only major storyline that Snitsky is best remembered for.

5 Battling The Samoan Bulldozer

Umaga v Kane Unforgiven 2006 Cropped

Umaga was on a rampage after he debuted on the Raw after WrestleMania 22, and Kane was tasked with ending the Samoan Bulldozer's unbeaten streak. They had some fantastic tussles with a match at Unforgiven 2006 that didn't have a definitive winner.

Raw was too big for both men, and they were pitted against one another in a Loser Leaves Raw match which Umaga ultimately won. Kane moved to SmackDown for the first time since the brand split, and Umaga got the better of him once more in a one-on-one bout at Cyber Sunday.

4 Till Death Do Us A Part

Kane & Lita Cropped

Kane has been involved in an array of storylines throughout his WWE career, but one that no one saw coming was Kane's blossoming romance with Lita in the spring and summer of 2004. The Big Red Machine impregnated Lita, who was dating Matt Hardy at the time.

Hardy wanted to inflict punishment on Kane, and the love rivals engaged in battle at SummerSlam with the winner getting to marry Lita. Kane prevailed, and he married Lita. He turned face as Lita carried his baby, but she lost it and the pair were no longer an item when Lita turned on Kane by costing him the Gold Rush tournament to kickstart her new relationship with Edge in May 2005.

3 Unmasking

Kane unmasking 2003

Since Kane's debut at Badd Blood: In Your House in October 1997, Kane wore a mask but Kane's time wearing the mask had run its course. The Big Red Machine challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship in June 2003 but if he lost he'd have no choice but to unmask.

Kane failed to capture the World Heavyweight Championship which forced him to unmask. This was a new chapter in Kane's career, and his first rival was his former tag team partner Rob Van Dam, who Kane defeated at SummerSlam 2003. Kane was maniacal when he was unmasked and it was a renewed lease of life for the former WWE Champion.

2 Clashing With The Boy Wonder

Shane McMahon v Kane Survivor Series 2003 Cropped

Kane was a menace when he unmasked, and it didn't matter what position you had in the company as Kane didn't have any remorse. He executed the Tombstone on the CEO of WWE Linda McMahon on top of the steel ramp. Shane McMahon marked his return to WWE and he wanted Kane to pay for his actions.

They had a competitive Last Man Standing match at Unforgiven 2003 which Kane won, and they had an Ambulance match at Survivor Series 2003 with Shane failing to beat Kane. Moreover, they engaged in a couple of backstage skits with Shane launching Kane into a bed of fire and Kane electrocuting Shane's testicles.

1 Return Of The Deadman

The Undertaker v Kane WrestleMania 20 Cropped

Survivor Series 2003 was a busy night for Kane as he didn't just dispatch Shane McMahon into an ambulance, he got involved in his brother The Undertaker's Buried Alive match with Mr. McMahon. Kane took Undertaker's bandana away from him, as issues between the kayfabe brothers escalated.

Kane masterfully built up the storyline as he had a memorial for Undertaker on an episode of SmackDown. This led to the return of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 20, who returned as the Deadman. Kane and Undertaker squared off at WrestleMania 20 in an average match with Undertaker finishing off Kane with a Tombstone.
