Every Easter Egg In WWE's 'White Rabbit' Vignette, Explained
Quick Links
One of the coolest things about wrestling is a good, cryptic vignette teasing the debut or return of a wrestler. WWE did it back in 2007 with the 'Save Us Y2J' teases and even before that, when hyping up Chris Jericho's debut in the company with the 'Countdown to the Millennium Clock'. While Jericho is not involved this time around, WWE has certainly managed to recreate the magic with their recent 'White Rabbit' vignette.
Recently, WWE had been playing Jefferson Airplane's 'White Rabbit' during live events and the arena would then be lit red. Many fans felt that it was just them testing out a new entrance song, but since then it has become evident that it is more than just that, with the newly released cryptic vignette. Filled with Easter eggs, it has sent the wrestling world into a frenzy to say the least, as fans try to figure out who it is about.

What Do All The Easter Eggs Mean In The 'White Rabbit' Vignette?
The most fun thing about a cryptic vignette like this is trying to figure out what it means and who the company is referring to. In this case, there are two outstanding candidates, unless things take a turn in the future.
The first is obviously Bray Wyatt. His return has been expected for a while now. The second is Karrion Kross, who recently made his return to the company.
The vignette begins with a white rabbit playing a game of Hangman, with the question 'Who killed the world?' There's also an hourglass at the corner of the screen surrounded by a red circle. The first five letters that the rabbit crosses off spell 'DEMON', and ultimately, the answer turns out to be 'YOU DID.'
Then the rabbit jumps into a black hole and the screen shows '9.23' which then turns blue and becomes '9:23'. This might mean that the return or debut will happen this Friday on SmackDown at 9:23 pm. Or it might mean that that is the time when the next vignette is dropped and this will be an ongoing thing.
The Karrion Kross Theory Makes Very Little Sense
Many people believe that the vignette is teasing a gimmick change for Kross. This is based upon two things. The first is based on The White Rabbit gimmick that he had for a short period of time in Lucha Underground. And the second is the hourglass in the bottom right corner of the vignette, which has become synonymous with Kross since his return.
While these are two Easter eggs which do point to Kross, it would make very little sense on the part of WWE to go that route. Firstly, he just recently made a return along with Scarlett and in a similar gimmick to the one which he had in NXT. Kross is also involved in a high profile feud with Drew McIntyre at the moment. Thus, it would be a shock if WWE decide to repackage him into his Lucha Underground gimmick, which to be honest, very few people even know about. Instead, what is more likely is that these are red herrings.

All Signs Point To A Bray Wyatt Return To WWE
While there might be a couple of Easter eggs in the vignette which point towards Kross, there are a long list of them which point towards Wyatt, who was released last year, but has been rumored to comeback for a while.
Firstly, the entire cryptic style of the video suits Wyatt better than anybody else. Also, the font of the words used in the game of Hangman are exactly the same to the one used in a Wyatt T-Shirt that WWE released years back. And the first five letters crossed off the rabbit in the game spell 'DEMON,' something one would associate with The Fiend character.
Many fans have tied 'White Rabbit' with Kross' Lucha Underground gimmick, but it could just as easily be a reference to Rambling Rabbit from Wyatt's Firefly Fun House segments, who was literally a puppet rabbit.
The phrase 'Who killed the world?' is associated with the movie Mad Max: Fury Road. Interestingly, Wyatt had referenced to a 'Mad Max society' in a tweet back in 2020.
Then, there is the hourglass, which might be just their to throw fans off. What many people are ignoring though is that it is surrounded by a red circle. There is a red circle in Wyatt's current Twitter bio as well.
And finally, the song 'White Rabbit' and the vignette itself are inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Interestingly, during the Tea Party segment of the Firefly Fun House involving Wyatt and Alexa Bliss, several references were made to Alice in Wonderland. Thus, with so many signs pointing towards him, it would be a surprise if the 'White Rabbit' vignette had nothing to do with Wyatt.
