11 The Hart Family Vs. Shawn Michaels & His Knights - 1993

At Survivor Series 1993, Bret Hart teamed up with his brothers Owen, Bruce, and Keith in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match. They collided with Shawn Michaels and his knights who were Greg Valentine, Barry Horrowitz, and Jeff Gaylord in disguise.

This was one of the longest matches in Survivor Series history lasting 31 minutes but it was one of the most underwhelming. The brothers worked like a well-oiled machine with Bret eliminating the Red Knight which was his sole elimination in the bout. Nevertheless, the Hart brothers prevailed as Michaels handed the Harts the victory as he headed back to the locker room and got counted out.

10 The 4x4s Vs. The King's Court - 1989

Since "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan carried a 2x4 piece of wood with him at Survivor Series 1989, Duggan, Bret Hart, Ronnie Garvin, and Hercules were called the 4x4s. Their adversaries were the King's Court led by "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Canadian Earthquake, Dino Bravo, and Greg Valentine.

The Hitman showcased his excellent technical wrestling skills early on in the match when he battled Valentine. Despite the King's Court dominance, fans popped when Bret and Savage went toe-to-toe. Ultimately, Bravo executed a shoulder breaker on Hart, and Savage picked up the pieces by eliminating Hart with his trademark elbow drop from the top rope.

9 Team Piper Vs. Team Flair - 1991

Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart, Virgil, and the British Bulldog were members of Team Piper captained by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper at Survivor Series 1991. Ric Flair was on the other side of the ring as captain of his team with Ted DiBiase, Warlord, and The Mountie completing the lineup.

Team Piper isolated DiBiase and kept him in their corner, and they all handed the Million Dollar Man some licks. Hart contributed to Warlord's elimination as Warlord had Virgil in the full nelson but Hart nailed Warlord with a double ax handle. Piper eliminated Warlord to even the playing field at three members apiece. All hell broke loose with the remaining participants sans Flair competing in the ring, and everyone was disqualified except for Flair who became the sole survivor.

8 20-Man Tag Team Survivor Series Elimination Match - 1988

A 20-man tag team Survivor Series elimination match was featured at Survivor Series 1988. If one member of a respective tag team got eliminated both members were removed from the match. It's crazy to think that Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were on the same team in this lengthy bout.

Bret registered the first elimination by eliminating Raymond Rougeau with a small package. Moreover, some of the all-time great tag teams were present in this encounter. Nonetheless, the Hart Foundation was no longer involved despite Bret nailing Tully Blanchard with a German suplex, Blanchard kept his shoulders up with Hart's shoulders down.

Bret Hart was doing an exceptional job as WWE Champion and he held the WWE Title for eight months dating back to WrestleMania X. The Hitman put the WWE Title on the line against Bob Backlund at Survivor Series 1994.

It came out of the blue with Backlund suddenly back in world championship contention considering he had been in the wilderness. Their submission match was decent but went on far too long with it lasting 35 minutes. Nevertheless, in a shocking turn of events, Backlund captured the WWE Championship after Owen cost his brother the title by throwing in the towel.

6 20-Man Tag Team Survivor Series Elimination Match - 1987

A gargantuan 20-man tag team Survivor Series elimination match was on the menu at the 1987 iteration of Survivor Series. The Hart Foundation were heels, and their partners were Demolition, the Bolsheviks, the Dream Team, and the Islanders.

Reigning Tag Team Champions Strike Force were the team captains for the opposing team. This was an exceptional match that encapsulated what Survivor Series was all about. The Hart Foundation lasted an energy-sapping 31 minutes with Jim Brunzell pinning Bret after Tama accidentally dropkicked Hart in the back.

5 The Dream Team Vs. The Million Dollar Team - 1990

Credit has to be given to Bret Hart for competing at Survivor Series 1990 considering his brother Dean tragically passed away 24 hours before the show began. Hart and his brother-in-law Jim Neidhart were the Tag Team Champions, and they were members of Dusty Rhodes' Dream Team alongside Koko B.Ware.

Ted DiBiase revealed the debuting Undertaker as his mystery partner which completed his Million Dollar Team along with Rhythm and Blues' Greg Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man. Bret was the first wrestler to touch base with Undertaker and the Deadman dominated Hart with ease. The Hitman eliminated Valentine with a small package, which left Hart and DiBiase as the final two participants. Hart and DiBiase's chemistry was great but the Million Dollar Man survived after he reversed Hart's crossbody with a pin.

4 Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels - 1997

In his 11th consecutive and final Survivor Series outing in 1997, Bret Hart put the WWE Championship on the line against his bitter rival Shawn Michaels, who was the reigning European Champion. They brawled for a good ten minutes before the bell even sounded which showed how much neither man liked each other.

This was a decent wrestling match but sadly this encounter is not remembered for the wrestling. Michaels applied Hart's very own Sharpshooter on him but referee Earl Hebner rang the bell that led to HBK becoming a three-time WWE Champion, and Hart furious with the outcome as he was legitimately screwed which became known as the Montreal Screwjob.

3 Bret Hart Vs. Diesel - 1995

Bret Hart had not held the WWE Championship since he dropped the WWE Title to Bob Backlund at Survivor Series 1994 but he was determined to end Diesel's WWE Title run which entered its 358th day when Survivor Series 1995 rolled around. Both men were babyfaces in this hard-hitting No Disqualification match but they channeled their inner heel.

Nevertheless, Hart made history as the first man to crash through the Spanish announce table. The Hitman regrouped, and after playing possum, Hart outsmarted Big Daddy Cool to kickstart his third run with the WWE Championship with a roll-up.

2 Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels - 1992

A changing of the guard was evident at Survivor Series 1992. Bret Hart's WWE Championship was up for grabs with Shawn Michaels looking to become the second man to hold the WWE and Intercontinental Titles simultaneously. This was a historic WWE Championship match as it was the first time that a WWE Title match headlined Survivor Series.

Hart and Michaels' technical wrestling was at the highest order in a competitive WWE Title bout. It was a valiant effort from the reigning Intercontinental Champion but the Hitman was not ready to part ways with the WWE Championship as the Sharpshooter was enough to see off Michaels.

1 Bret Hart Vs. Steve Austin - 1996

Bret Hart ended his eight-month hiatus and returned to action at Survivor Series 1996 against Steve Austin. This was the beginning of one of the best feuds in WWE history, and there was a caveat as the winner would face the reigning WWE Champion at the following pay-per-view.

The Excellence of Execution showed why he is "the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be" with his fine attention to detail in his matches. He showed no signs of ring rust, and he stole the show with Austin. Austin applied the Million Dollar Dream on Hart but Hart managed to escape and reversed it for a hard-fought win.
