Eric Young Reportedly Returning To WWE, Fans Hopeful For Sanity Reunion

After a flurry of bringing released wrestlers back, Triple H has eased off on returns a little as of late. That might well be set to change again soon, as apparently Eric Young will be back with WWE very soon. Young has been with Impact for the bulk of his time away from WWE but seems to have been written off the weekly show for good on Thursday night.

Eric Young Likely Done With Impact

PWInsider reports Young is on his way back to WWE now that his time with Impact appears to have come to an end. For those who missed this week's Impact, Young was stabbed to death as part of an angle which has led to his group, Violent By Design, getting new leaders. A natural next step after your previous leader has been killed.

What appears to have been Young's final segment for Impact can be seen below. Cody Deaner murdered Young and will probably be the new leader of the group. A group that also includes Alan Angels, a man AEW fans will likely be familiar with since he was an OG member of The Dark Order. Young re-signed with Impact in July 2020 and has been with the promotion ever since.

A Potential Sanity Reunion

If Young is on his way back to WWE, fans appear to be hopeful there will be some sort of Sanity reunion. Nikki Cross recently dropped her superhero gimmick and reverted back to a character more reminiscent of the one she portrayed when a part of the unhinged group alongside Young. The former Impact Champion appearing on Raw to back her up would likely get quite the crowd reaction.

The only issue with a potential Sanity reunion right now is its other members not being back in WWE. There is a connection between Cross and Killian Dain, who goes by Damo outside of WWE, though since the two of them are married. The only member of the group WWE might not be able to tempt back is Alexander Wolfe, though that probably isn't completely out of the realms of possibility either.
