Domino's Considering Pulling Ads From AEW Shows Thanks To Pizza Cutter Spot
Domino's Pizza is not happy about one of its ads airing during a picture-in-picture as Nick Gage took a pizza cutter to Chris Jericho's head on Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite closed with a deathmatch on Wednesday night. The second of Chris Jericho's five labors in which the veteran had to survive a match against deathmatch legend, Nick Gage. As expected, the match featured light tubes, broken glass, and a whole lot of blood. Not to mention a weapon Gage has become synonymous with at this point, the pizza cutter.
Domino's Doesn't Like Pizza Cutter Spots
Gage went to the pizza cutter a number of times during the match, resulting in Jericho's face becoming a crimson mask by the time Le Champion managed to surmount the odds and pick up the win. However, one pizza cutter spot, in particular, appears to have landed AEW in hot water.

Dynamite went to a break but stayed with the action thanks to picture-in-picture. During that break, Gage was once again shown brandishing and using his pizza cutter, but at one point a Domino's Pizza ad was playing alongside it. A pizza cutter was even being used in the ad at the same time. For its primary purpose of slicing pizza, of course, not to cut open someone's head.
No More Pizza Ads For AEW
If you were watching the match on TNT on Wednesday, you probably chuckled at what was quite clearly a rather amusing coincidence. Higher-ups at Domino's didn't find it funny, though. In fact, the fast-food giant was so displeased at one of its ads being shown alongside a pizza cutter being used as a weapon that it is considering pulling its advertising from future AEW shows.
"We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward," a Domino's spokesperson revealed. Gage has actually apologized to Domino's about the incident, as you can see in the tweet above. Jon Moxley, who was a big fan of the match and watching on backstage, said in an interview that Domino's needs to chill out, adding if the company played its cards right Gage would be able to sell some pizzas for them.
