Destiny 2: How To Complete Operation: Seraph's Shield
Operation: Seraph's Shield is an Exotic activity for Guardians in Destiny 2's Season of the Seraph. This mission is tied to More Than a Weapon.
The third week of Season of the Seraph has introduced a new Exotic mission in Destiny 2, called Operation: Seraph's Shield. Guardians will face Hive, Scorn, and Fallen throughout this lengthy activity. Fortunately, a Fireteam of up to three players can challenge this mission together. As a reward for completion of Operation: Seraph's Shield, Guardians will earn the new Exotic Pulse Rifle, Revision Zero.
Players will not initially have access to the Operation: Seraph's Shield mission. They will first need to unlock the quest The Final Shape, by progressing far enough in the More Than a Weapon storyline. This Exotic quest is a necessary step in the third week of the story. Operation: Seraph's Shield has Guardians infiltrating a Seraph Station and uploading a virus to the network. This will allow Rasputin to bypass the security once he is restored. Players can begin the mission by selecting the activity from the H.E.L.M. destination map.
How To Complete Operation: Seraph's Shield In Destiny 2
Upon launching Operation: Seraph's Shield, Guardians will need to sneak past the security towers and enter the facility. Players can deploy their Ghost to temporarily display the quest marker and locate the entrance. Once Elsie Bray starts talking, take the first left and slip past a few security lasers. At the end of the hallway is a room with a few Fallen enemies. Guardians in Destiny 2 familiar with Europa's Deep Stone Crypt Raid will notice one foe with the Scanner Augment. This allows players to view scannable objects around the room. There will be multiple locations in the mission that require the use of the Scanner Augment to open doors. After scanning three objects, Guardians must deposit the Augment to unlock the path forward.
Operation: Seraph's Shield is a mix of combat encounters and puzzles. Players need to be aware of their surroundings for hints and ways to access other parts of the facility, such as through vents. Deeper inside the facility, Guardians will face their first major puzzle. A large room will be filled with Fallen, as well as a Scanner Augment. Players need to look through the glass into the next room. There are multiple consoles to interact with and only one correct path to solve the puzzle in Destiny 2. Guardians that step on the wrong tile or interact with the incorrect console will be killed. These consoles change each mission, meaning Guardians will need to use the Scanner Augment to check every time. Fortunately, the path stays the same, so players can memorize the safe tiles.
Past the puzzle room, Guardians will discover the next mechanic, the Operator Augment. This reveals active control panels for doors, highlighted red, which can be shot. By alternating between each Augment, players can work their way through the rest of the facility. Near the final boss encounter, Guardians will pick up the Suppressor Augment next to a shielded Servitor. They will see four balls floating in the air, three of which will glow blue. Players must shoot the shielded enemy once, while under each glowing ball to suppress the foe. Afterward, Guardians can enter the final boss encounter in Destiny 2's Operation: Seraph Shield. Similar to the Servitor, players must use the Suppressor Augment throughout the fight to defeat the powerful enemy.
Operation: Seraph Shield is one of the best quests Bungie has made in recent years. This mission ties directly into the Season of the Seraph story and rewards an excellent Exotic Pulse Rifle. Additionally, the activity teaches players about the three Deep Stone Crypt Augments, preparing them for the Raid and reworked weapons. All Guardians should complete the Operation: Seraph Shield mission in Destiny 2.
