Delois Laverentz
Professional Background
Delois Meyer Laverentz is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Ms. Laverentz has been a leader and champion in the development of KUMC's campus-wide interprofessional education program. The Foundations of Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC): Introductions to TeamSTEPPS® brings students together to learn with, from, and about each other at three points in the education.
Ms. Laverentz received her nursing degree from Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital, School of Nursing. She went on to complete her BSN from the University of Nebraska and her MN from the University of Kansas.
Ms. Laverentz has an interest in a creating a healthy learning environment for students, faculty and staff and served on a task force that assessed the learning environment within the school for incivil behaviors and the developed the RESPECT initiative.
Her research interest is interprofessional education. She received the 2017-2018 Clinical Faculty Research Grant for, Describing Nursing Students' Attitudes about Interprofessional Practice.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
