Dean Ambrose's 1st Post-WWE Booking Is An MMA Movie

Dean Ambrose wasted no time appearing as Jon Moxley following the expiration of his WWE contract at the end of April.

By the way, for those of you who thought the announcement regarding his departure could be a work, it's really looking like it isn't.

Anyhow, the 33-year-old is reported as having joined the cast of an MMA film. That is according to Deadline, who claims Ambrose, or Moxley if you'd rather that, will be returning to the big screen for the first time since appearing in WWE Studios' 12 Rounds 3: Lockdown back in 2015.

Ambrose/Moxley, whose actual name is Jonathan Good, is reportedly set to play Randy Stone in the movie Cagefighter, per IMDB. The MMA movie will portray Good as a WWE star crossing over to the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

It's said that Josh Herdman's character, Reiss, agrees to a fight with Stone, probably expecting an easy win and a fat cheque, but gets himself humiliated by the former WWE performer. A humbled Reiss then fights his way back to a rematch with Stone, as most fighting movies go.

The film will also feature an impressive cast boasting names such as Michael Jai White, Gina Gershon, Michelle Ryan, Jason Maza, Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre and Alexander Gustafsson.

Former WWE star Jason "Christian" Reso is also an executive producer, while the movie will be directed by Jessie Quinones. Cagefighter is still pre-production and there's no release date set as yet.

Word is it's going to be filmed in the UK, but there should be more on this as the months go by.

What This Means

Ambrose - we're likely going to stick to this name on here because we miss him - has given no indication as to what he plans to do aside of beating wise guys up in movies. It is rumored that he could join Impact Wrestling over the incoming AEW but conjecture is all that's available where his wrestling future is concerned at the moment.
