Cryptic Message Shows Up On WWE's Twitter And Is Quickly Deleted

WWE's Twitter appeared to be taken over for a brief period on Tuesday before reverting back to normal a few minutes later.

As much as WWE is criticized for booking on the fly, and Vince McMahon rewrites shows at the last minute, sometimes the company gets long-term booking right. Not as often in the present day as 20-30 years ago, but every now and again WWE's bookers prove their doubters wrong. The main issue the company has is giving up on ideas at the first sign of trouble.

It might have an angle it has laid out to take place over the course of even weeks or months. Then, as soon as it gets a bad reaction or two from fans, McMahon decides to make a u-turn and change plans entirely. Even worse, he might scrap the idea altogether. Liv Morgan, for example. Anyone else remember she was supposed to have something going on with Lana right about now?

WWE has been teasing something for weeks on SmackDown. A graphic that has been made to look like a glitch or mistake during which an image of an envelope appears on screen. Worryingly, those glitches appeared to be absent from last week's SmackDown at the Performance Center. Fingers crossed the major changes brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak haven't altered what appeared to be intriguing plans.

Our assumption is that plans have not changed, at least going by what happened to WWE's Twitter account on Tuesday. It published a tweet that read "the truth will be heard" but flipped the lettering upside down. At the same time, WWE's profile pic was changed to solid black, and its bio read "Expose. W a t c h i n g. //". Minutes later, the tweet was deleted and everything returned to normal.

WWE knew no matter how short a time its account was changed for, fans would see and screenshots would be taken. The information is out there and it has rightfully caused a stir. Then again, there is the outside chance WWE's account was legitimately hacked and this has nothing to do with the SmackDown glitches or any other angle currently in the works.
