Cody Rhodes Comments On Competition For WrestleMania 40 Main Event
Fans were left with mouths agape at the end of WrestleMania 39, when Roman Reigns pinned Cody Rhodes and denied The American Nightmare his dream of becoming WWE Champion. With WrestleMania 40 just a few months away and the 2024 Royal Rumble just around the corner, Cody once again has his eyes set on finishing his story, even if that includes overcoming some massive obstacles like The Rock & CM Punk.
Cody Rhodes: "I'm Not Flinching"
Cody Rhodes was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated, and shared his thoughts on the main event of WrestleMania 40, and how he remains unflinching in his pursuit of headlining the massive event. As if CM Punk wasn't a big enough hurdle on his road to redemption, Rhodes now has The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment to deal with. Cody had this to say:
"The Rock is The Great One–he’s still electrifying. CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling. I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster–it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me. I’m not flinching."
The Rock returned on WWE Raw last week and teased an encounter with The Head Of The Table, Roman Reigns. Such a monumental clash has been in the works for years, with The Rock even confirming there was a plan in place for him to face Roman at WrestleMania 39, but it ultimately fell through.
