Cody Hall Won't Be Joining MLW After All

Cody Hall, the son of Scott Hall, a four-time WWF Intercontinental Champion, had reportedly signed a contract with MLW in October, yet plans for his debut have been canceled. Although there appears to be no controversy surrounding the termination of his contract, no explanation has been given either.

MLW reportedly intended to put Hall in the CONTRA Unit along with Ikuro Kwon, Jacob Fatu, Josef Samael, Simon Gotch, and Mads Krugger, who was added to the group during the latest episode of MLW Fusion. There was also speculation that Hall might pair up with Brian Pillman Jr. to start a feud with Von Erichs or Injustice.

In January 2015, Hall joined the New Japan Pro Wrestling dojo, making his debut the following year at New Year Dash!! as Bullet Club's personal trainee. Hall made his NJPW in-ring debut on February 2, 2016, alongside stablemates Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, Kenny Omega and Yujiro Takahashi in a ten-man tag team main event, where they were defeated by Captain New Japan, Hirooki Goto, Katsuyori Shibata, Ryusuke Taguchi and Hiroshi Tanahashi, who pinned Hall for the win.

After two years with the Japanese Pro Wrestling Noah promotion, where he unsuccessfully challenged Eli Drake for the GFW Global Championship, Hall began debuted in the Japanese DDT Pro-Wrestling promotion in 2019, yet he was dismissed from the promotion after making racially charged jokes on Twitter about the COVID-19 pandemic.
