Bryan Danielson's AEW Forbidden Door Injury Worse Than Expected

Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada tore the house down in the main event of Forbidden Door last weekend, although some might argue it had already been partially torn down by Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay. Eventually winning the match by submission, despite picking up the victory, Danielson didn't leave Toronto unscathed.

Fractured Forearm

Far from it, in fact, as The American Dragon revealed right after the PPV doctors suspected he had fractured his forearm. Turns out those doctors were right, although their estimate of Danielson missing six to eight weeks may have been a little out. Danielson's wife Brie Garcia, formerly WWE's Brie Bella, has shared an x-ray image of the arm, and apparently, it's worse than they thought.

“Not sure to be proud or chastise him for wrestling ten more minutes with this break. Definitely worse than we thought,” Garcia revealed, sharing the image on Instagram. If you watched the match on Sunday night, you'll see even though Danielson is pretty pleased to have picked up the win, he only lifts one arm and leaves the broken one bent and down by his side.

Will He Be Back For All In?

Garcia's reveal has made Danielson's recovery time even more uncertain as it now seems very unlikely the former WWE Champion will be back in time for All In. With two months to go, had the initial doctors' estimates been correct, then Danielson may have made it back just in time for the stadium show in the UK. If the damage is that much worse than initially thought, Danielson may well be off the show.

Having shown the image Garcia posted to a radiographer, apparently it's still hard to judge exactly how long it will take Danielson's bone to heal. It ultimately depends on how the injury occurred and whether he suffered any ligament damage. The combination of Danielson continuing to wrestle for ten more minutes after the injury occurred and Garcia confirming it's worse than they thought certainly suggests the AEW star has more than a broken bone to deal with.
