Brock Lesnar Warned AJ Styles Not To Jump When Taking Him To Suplex City

A lot of wrestling fans often paint Brock Lesnar as a one-dimensional performer. Shows up a few times a year to wrestle a five-minute match and has someone else do all the talking for him. While it's true that Lesnar has been showing a different side of himself in WWE since his most recent return, it's probably unfair to say he was boring and his matches were uninspired before that.

Whatever You Do, Don't Jump

A number of opponents brought something special out of Lesnar before he donned his flannel and hopped on a tractor. Finn Balor, Bryan Danielson, and AJ Styles all had great matches with Lesnar, and The Phenomenal One has been sharing a little insight into his showdown with The Beast Incarnate.

One of the more amusing things Styles shared about Lesnar is a warning the former Universal Champion gave him about taking one of his famous German suplexes. “I threw in my two cents and he told me not to jump when he gives me a German or he would throw me out of the ring,” Styles told Alex McCarthy during an interview for Inside The Ropes.

Brock Lesnar Doesn't Need Your Help

Not to pull the curtain back too far, but usually when a wrestler gives someone a German suplex, the person taking the move will jump to ensure they make it all the way to the mat on the other side. Lesnar obviously isn't a regular wrestler and is quite a bit stronger than your average WWE Superstar. Plus, even though he isn't a small man when compared to a regular person, Styles is quite a bit lighter than The Beast and some of the people he has previously been tasked with throwing around.

What might be even more remarkable than everything Styles had to say about the risk of being launched from the ring is his clash with Lesnar is that match is almost five years old. He and Lesnar squared off at Survivor Series 2017 shortly after The Phenomenal One defeated Jinder Mahal for the WWE Title.
