Backstage Update On Miro's Status With AEW

While it's not a certainty, AEW might have given its first clue that Miro could be returning to the company after months away from the product. According to AEW sources, Miro is and has been completely healthy, and wants to actively compete, but it wasn't until Wednesday when Kip Sabian said he was going to find an opponent for Orange Cassidy in an upcoming match on Rampage that the hint Miro might return was put out there for fans.

Sabian absolutely could have someone else lined up and there are reports that AEW has no creative plans for Miro since his return in June. As per sources of Fightful Select, meetings were planned to discuss creative with him but they never occurred. He has only wrestled four times this year, with his last match being at All Out. 'God’s Favourite Champion’ seems more like God's forgotten child these days with his last big run coming with the TNT Title in 2021. His absence has been noticeable during most of 2022, and while he was dealing with some injury issues, ‘The Redeemer’ has been kept on the sidelines for no particular reason.

Could it be Miro that Sabian has in mind, or is AEW going in an entirely different direction? Sabian and Miro have a past, but it hasn't always been pleasant.

Fans Getting Annoyed By Lack Of AEW Using Miro

Miro’s absence isn't sitting well with some sections of the AEW fanbase. Many have criticized the company, particularly Tony Khan for a lack of vision when it comes to someone that has huge potential. At the same time, WWE fans weren't happy when Rusev wasn't getting his push either.

But, under Triple H, many fans have wondered if Miro would be better off back in WWE. Any rumors of him making a jump, however, are just that, rumors.
