5 Wrestlers Who Were Blacklisted By WWE But Were Welcomed Back (& 5 Who Never Did)
Many professional wrestlers have found themselves on Vince McMahon's bad side over the years and that has led to them being blacklisted by him. Whether this was a situation that they deserved or was something that came down to pettiness can be varied, but there are plenty of stars that have been told to leave the company and not been invited back.

Not only does McMahon typically not bring them back but he has also refused to mention them at all such as on commentary or during video packages. However, while some people stay on the outskirts of WWE forever after being blacklisted, others do end up working their way back into the company at points.
10 Welcomed Back: Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is arguably the biggest name in the history of professional wrestling, but that didn't stop Vince McMahon from blacklisting him. While McMahon was unhappy with the Hulkster after the steroid trial, it was when racist comments were made public that he was truly blacklisted.
Hogan was even removed from the Hall Of Fame, with the company taking the situation extremely seriously at the time. However, after a few years away McMahon ended up putting him back in and bringing him back onto television, even though he has been met with mixed reception.
9 Never Did: Nailz
Nailz isn't a name that is ever mentioned by WWE and that isn't just because he wasn't a main event player during his career. He was someone who had an interesting character and could have been a much bigger star than he was, and that's something he believed in as well.

Nailz demanded more money for his work which WWE wasn't happy to provide and things ended up becoming physical between him and Vince McMahon. Nailz was promptly released, and he has never been mentioned since.
8 Welcomed Back: Jeff Jarrett
Jeff Jarrett is another wrestler who had issues with Vince McMahon due to finances, as he demanded a pay-off before dropping the Intercontinental Championship on his way out to WCW. While he was brought back when McMahon purchased WCW, he immediately fired Jarrett to prove the issue wasn't over.
Jarrett was then blacklisted by the company as WWE opted to never mention him despite the career he had. However, Jarrett eventually got to return, entering the Hall Of Fame, competing in a few matches, and gaining a backstage role.
7 Never Did: CM Punk
CM Punk's decision to walk out on WWE was not met positively by the company, and that has led to Vince McMahon blacklisting him ever since. While Punk has seemingly not wanted to return, WWE equally hasn't brought him back and the company often goes to extreme lengths to avoid mentioning him.
He isn't someone that WWE speaks about on television and Punk has very much been blacklisted to the point where he was even asked to leave the arena when he recently visited backstage to see people.
6 Welcomed Back: Scott Steiner
Scott Steiner has never been afraid to speak his mind over the years, but that did lead to him being blacklisted by WWE for several years. He would trash-talk the company regularly, and he was then involved in an incident with Hulk Hogan and his partner, and that led to WWE taking action against him.
Steiner was banned from the Hall Of Fame and he couldn't be around during WrestleMania weekend for many years. However, with the rise of Bron Breakker the Steiner name has cropped up again and Scott has since been welcomed back.
5 Never Did: Ryback
Ryback was a popular talent during his time with the company, and that could have led to him being welcomed back at some point, even if it was for a one-off moment. However, that hasn't happened because Ryback has been blacklisted by WWE to the point where the company doesn't talk about him.
This is largely down to the comments he likes to make on social media, he has disparaged WWE at times and that isn't something that the company typically just accepts, hence his blacklisting.
4 Welcomed Back: Madusa
Madusa felt the full wrath of WWE when she jumped ship to WCW, taking her title with her to dump in the trash live on television. It was a crazy moment from the Monday Night Wars, but also a very disrespectful one which left a lot of people frustrated.
The company stopped mentioning her because of the situation, but she has since worked her way back to WWE, entering the Hall Of Fame and making several appearances as a legend.
3 Never Did: Alberto Del Rio
Despite Alberto Del Rio claiming that WWE wants to bring him back every year, the former World Heavyweight Champion is blacklisted by WWE. He isn't mentioned by the company due to comments and situations in his personal life which WWE doesn't want brought up.
There's a reason why the company doesn't want fans to recall Del Rio and that's because there is so much negativity surrounding him outside of the ring.
2 Welcomed Back: The Ultimate Warrior
The Ultimate Warrior and WWE parted ways very negatively, which was highlighted by WWE making a DVD about the rise and fall of his career. The company wanted nothing to do with him despite the legendary status he commanded, and he was blacklisted for many years.

Fortunately, WWE decided to change approach and welcome him back to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame as he then gave a heartfelt speech on the following Raw. This was timely as he, unfortunately, passed away shortly after, but he was at least able to speak to the fans one last time.
1 Never Did: Teddy Hart
Teddy Hart is an extremely controversial person in the world of professional wrestling, and while a lot of people aren't aware that he ever worked for WWE, he did and was subsequently blacklisted, despite his family name. He was let go from WWE's developmental due to attitude problems, causing issues throughout his time in the company.
There have since been many negative stories about Hart over the years both in and out of wrestling which is why he hasn't been brought back at any point, and he never will.
