Kevin Owens played a huge role in Cody Rhodes becoming a breakout star in between his WWE stints. A friendship between the two formed when Cody was in WWE during his first tenure as Stardust. The Young Bucks trusting Rhodes due to Owens’ word led to him joining the Bullet Club when New Japan pitched the idea. Cody’s friendship with the Bucks and others led to AEW starting via The Elite. 9 Doesn’t: Jaxson Ryker

Jaxson Ryker

The controversial run of Jaxson Ryker in WWE saw many fans hating him for both his in-ring work and outside action. Ryker wasn’t afraid to bring up his politics on social media, including posting a rude comment that upset many of his peers.

Kevin Owens was the one to speak most calling out Ryker for being a bad person while on the same roster. Mustafa Ali, Ricochet, Batista and Sami Zayn all spoke out against Ryker. Owens being so blunt set the tone for others to give their input as well.

8 Gets Along With: Rey Mysterio

Kevin Owens Rey Mysterio

Most wrestlers today view Rey Mysterio as an all-time great legend for good reason. Mysterio inspired many of today’s talent as much as anyone else in the business given how much it changed thanks to his style and size proving fans could rally behind him.

The love Kevin Owens has shown Rey makes it easy to see the mutual respect there. Owens spoke about being honored to team with Mysterio on house shows and even wears his t-shirt backstage. There was a recent post-show segment with KO even asking for permission from Rey before Stunning Dominik.

7 Doesn’t: Jacques Rougeau

The Mountie Cropped

Jacques Rougeau aka The Mountie had a lackluster run in WWE, but he used that experience to start his own wrestling school in Canada. Kevin Owens was the most successful person to train there, which makes it more fascinating that he has spoken negatively about the experience.

The restrictions of Rougeau made the early career of Owens difficult when trying to gain more experience and make a name. Jacques has replied claiming he doesn’t understand why KO hates him and that he should be more grateful for the opportunity.

6 Gets Along With: Steve Austin

Kevin Owens is on the short list of active talents to have strong relationships with Steve Austin, The Rock and Triple H. Austin’s friendship with Owens is the most relevant since it helped give us an all-time great moment when they faced off at WrestleMania 38.

The use of the Stunner finisher by Owens set up an easy story as he spent a lot of time trying to talk Austin into one more match. Austin picked Owens as his opponent in Texas and spoke highly about KO being the ultimate professional in making the match a huge success.

5 Doesn’t: Jim Cornette

Adam Cole’s career was helped by Kevin Owens multiple times on the journey of the same promotions. Ring of Honor and PWG each saw Owens putting over Cole like a million bucks as the next top independent wrestling star.

Even the short time both worked in WWE together featured Cole appearing on watch along shows and being confronted with hugs by Owens for comical impact. Cole has revealed that Owens is not only one of his closest friends but someone that gives him great advice quite often.

3 Doesn’t: Al Snow

Al-Snow-head

An interesting tale of wrestling beef saw Al Snow attending a Ring of Honor show while working for TNA and rubbing many people the wrong way. Kevin Owens revealed that he heard about Snow sitting in the crowd and complaining about everything on the show, despite the audience being into it.

There was also an odd interaction on an elevator when Snow expected Owens to introduce himself and ask for advice that didn’t happen. Snow has a reputation for complaining about modern wrestling and had that create friction with Owens.

CM Punk has so many enemies in both WWE and AEW that you can book a WrestleMania card with just those names. Kevin Owens’ heat with Punk started all the way back in Owens’ ROH debut when Punk yelled at him in the locker room over a disagreement.

The two seemed to be friendly in the early 2010s until Punk shared a negative story about Owens’ experience at a restaurant. KO’s close friends having heat with Punk likely played into his savage tweet showing a photo of his WrestleMania main event with Steve Austin. The photo was posted minutes after Punk’s press conference basically showing he did what Punk badly wanted to but couldn’t.
