Find out which names are close to The Great one two decades after the peak of his WWE run. The following legends are still close friends of The Rock today.

10 Mick Foley

The Rock and Mick Foley had a great bond in WWE as both a tag team and as opponents. WWE relied on the top stars to use their own charisma and creativity with Rock and Foley always hitting home runs when put in the chance to thrive.

The years have seen them remaining friends throughout the various career changes. Mick even mentioned his daughter Noelle and Rock’s daughter Simone Johnson becoming friends in recent years for a new generation of the Rock and Sock Connection.

9 Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle credits The Rock with a lot of input in helping him get to the next level in WWE. The first WWE Championship win of Angle’s career came against Rock. Many top stars would have refused to put over a wrestler in his first year, but Rock had no issues.

The two had a lot of fun in comedic segments making fun of each other in the early 2000s. Rock put over Angle on social media a few years ago to show there is still love between the two. Angle has never had anything but kind words about Rock.

8 Vince McMahon

The relationship between The Rock and Vince McMahon saw them developing a close bond beyond the ring. Vince worked with Rock’s father, grandfather, and dozens of other relatives with the Samoan Dynasty continuing to thrive in WWE.

Rock had McMahon’s full support when debuting with a big push and getting opportunities to turn heel. The decision to leave WWE saw Vince becoming a business partner in Rock’s first few films. Rock is still close with McMahon and can return to WWE any time he wants.

7 Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar doesn’t have many friends in WWE or in life, but he developed a friendship with The Rock throughout the years. An appearance on the Stone Cold Podcast saw Brock revealing he learned the most from working with Rock.

The 2002 feud saw Rock cleanly putting over Lesnar as the WWE Champion before his transition into acting. Rock showed up at one of Brock’s biggest UFC fights as a supporter of his former rival turned friend.

6 Mark Henry

The Nation of Domination was the turning point for The Rock saving his career after the failed face push to start his WWE run. Mark Henry and Rock already had a friendship after meeting during their time in developmental.

The two future legends became travel partners when teaming up in the Nation. Henry has revealed he still talks to Rock and is very proud of his accomplishments. There is hope on Henry’s side that the Nation of Domination will eventually get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame together.

5 Triple H

Triple H and The Rock were rivals on-screen for years with rumors of having some heat backstage. Both wrestlers competed against each other from each chapter of their careers from mid-carders to faction leaders to main eventing legends.

The former opponents became closer friends when Rock returned to WWE in the early 2010s with Triple H working backstage now. Rock even filmed a touching video celebrating Triple H’s 25th anniversary to show their friendship in a public light.

4 Becky Lynch

The term “legend” being used for Becky Lynch may be early, but she deserves that status if she never returns to the ring again. Lynch was the hottest name in WWE when The Rock returned for the first Smackdown episode on Fox.

Rock specifically went out of his way to request having a segment with Becky to make fun of Baron Corbin. Reports circulated that Rock formed a bond with Lynch and is hoping to help her transition into acting at some point.

3 John Cena

John Cena and The Rock had some tension when working together based on Cena’s prior comments blasting Rock for leaving WWE. The angle was easy to book when Rock returned, and both of their matches set PPV box office records.

Both wrestlers enjoyed working together and lost any issues they had in the past. Cena even developed a respect for Rock’s path as he chased his own acting career and transitioned into a part-time role. Cena joining the Fast and Furious franchise may see them in the same movie sooner or later.

2 CM Punk

Another former rival of The Rock to become a good friend is CM Punk. The two exchanged some brutal insults on the microphone during their 2013 program for the WWE Championship. Punk trashed Rock for being a part-timer coming back to take the top spot at WrestleMania.

Rock and Punk enjoyed working together and became close enough friends to have a texting relationship. WWE was livid when Rock called Punk on the phone during a dark segment where fans were chanting for Punk.

1 Steve Austin

The most important rivalry in WWE history saw Steve Austin and The Rock having three matches at WrestleMania. Both wrestlers were the faces of the company when WWE reached new levels of success in the Attitude Era.

Austin and Rock have remained friends throughout the years after building a bond in the ring. They both left WWE around the same time and will always have their careers linked. Rock has been nothing but extremely positive about Austin as a wrestler and person in interviews.
