10 Wrestlers Who Got Buried On The Mic

Wrestlers going back and forth on the microphone is something that has always taken place throughout the history of the business, and it is expected that people will take shots at each other. This is something that helps to build a rivalry and when done right it can talk fans into the building to watch an encounter.

However, there are times when wrestlers can go too far and they will end up burying someone else on the microphone. It can make it hard for the other wrestler to get back into things or make fans take them seriously again at that moment, which isn't always a great situation.

Talk show segments are often the place for great promos to take place, and that was the case when Drew McIntyre and Ricochet ended up in the same ring together on A Moment Of Bliss. Ricochet claimed he didn't want to talk, and that led to McIntyre just telling him to shut up.

It was slightly embarrassing for Ricochet, but that was then followed up by McIntyre completely trash-talking him. This was all based on the size of Ricochet as he told him to leave the business talk to the men, which didn't make the high-flying star look good.

8 Dean Ambrose Buries EC3

EC3 is a brilliant talker, but on the main roster, he was never allowed to showcase those skills. The company purposefully made it so he didn't talk which was a strange creative choice, and that was highlighted during a segment that saw him on A Moment Of Bliss.

Dean Ambrose appeared and kept asking him joke questions without letting him speak as he mocked EC3. He questioned what his name stood for and where EC1 and EC2 were, and the facial reactions of EC3 summed up how he was being buried at this moment.

7 Kevin Nash Buries Sycho Sid

Kevin Nash Sid Vicious

Kevin Nash never had any problems letting people know his true feelings throughout his entire career in the wrestling business, and that was certainly true during his feud against Sycho Sid in WCW. He and Scott Hall completely trashed him when Nash decided to dress up as his rival.

He acted like Sid was stupid and that was something he kept hammering home until Sid himself came out. He then, unfortunately, made a mistake and claimed that he had half the brains that Nash did, which only helped enhance his own burial.

The Hall Of Fame ceremony is supposed to be a celebration of legendary careers, and it allows those being inducted the chance to tell their stories. However, it also acts as a time for people to peel back the curtain of their characters and have a little fun.

That's exactly what The Undertaker did with his unique speech, and that led to him taking a shot at his long-time rival and tag team partner, Kane. He joked that Kane had stolen all of his moves, burying him and his in-ring arsenal with a fun comment that fans loved.

5 Triple H Buries CM Punk

CM Punk and John Cena contract signing

It is well known that Triple H and CM Punk are two people that do not see eye to eye, and that was obvious during many of their segments together in the ring. During a contract signing between CM Punk and John Cena, the Game took the time to take a shot at Punk as he looked to bury him.

He quickly questioned how Punk's movie did, alluding to the fact that it didn't do very well. It was a random comment to throw into the segment, but was a blatant example of someone trying to bury another on the microphone.

4 Enzo Amore Buries Big Cass

Enzo Amore promo on Raw

Enzo Amore has always had the gift of the gab, and it is one of the big reasons that he was able to get over so well throughout his WWE run. The company tried to create a rivalry between him and his former tag team partner Big Cass which was interesting, but it led to Amore burying him on the microphone.

He was trying to put himself over which made sense as he went on to say that Cass was just a seven-foot catchphrase that he wrote. This was a nod to their nickname which he did write, making out that Cass' career was pointless otherwise.

3 JBL Buries The Ascension

JBL Raw Reunion

There are many stories of JBL allegedly bullying another talent behind the scenes, but in the ring, he is typically a professional. However, he did take the time to bury The Ascension on the microphone during a 2015 episode of Monday Night Raw as the upcoming team trash-talked the nWo.

JBL mocked them for how they dressed, making it clear that wearing gear like that didn't make them a legendary tag team, referring to the fact they dressed similarly to the Legion Of Doom. It didn't help the upcoming stars though, which is never a good situation when legends are mixed in as that is supposed to be the point.

2 Adam Cole Buries Karrion Kross

Adam Cole promo to Karrion Kross

Adam Cole and Karrion Kross were two top stars in NXT, but they had completely different characters. That's something that Cole tapped into during a promo segment to hype their singles match as he claimed that Kross needed the fancy entrance, the lights, and a girl by his side to be seen as a great star.

Yet for him, Cole believes that they just had to ring the bell for people to see that. It was an incredible line, and one that was cleverly put together to promote his in-ring ability, but it also made Kross look weak in the process.

1 John Cena Buries Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns and John Cena

Nowadays Roman Reigns has developed himself to being the top star in WWE, and on the microphone, he can more than stand up for himself. However, heading into his first major singles match against John Cena that wasn't the case despite the fact WWE tried to push him as the face.

Cena made a point of teaching Reigns a verbal lesson during an in-ring segment as he claimed the reason he had to keep returning was that Reigns couldn't do his job in replacing him. It was a brutal line and one that completely buried the former Shield star.
