10 Worst WWE PPV Matches Of 2021
WWE pay-per-views always feature great matches, including some unforgettable ones, and this year was no exception. In 2021 fans witnessed several fantastic matches, worth watching again and again, such as the triple threat match between Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and Edge at WrestleMania 37.

However, there is always the other side of the coin and this year there were also some PPV matches that were lousy, a total disaster, matches that simply shouldn't have happened, at least not on a PPV. Below, we take a look at the 10 worst WWE PPV matches of 2021.
10 Battle Royal – Survivor Series 2021
Omos stole the show by eliminating 12 opponents and being the last man standing in the Battle Royal that took place at Survivor Series 2021. This was a good call, as Omos is a giant who needs these scenarios to look powerful.
However, the match was too predictable, as it was obvious that Omos would win. Also, the match was super boring and it made no sense for wrestlers from the same brands to eliminate each other. Lazy booking at its finest.
9 Bobby Lashley Vs. Goldberg – SummerSlam 2021
This match was being enjoyable, frankly better than expected, as it was a pretty entertaining hard-hitting battle, but it was the finish that ruined everything. Goldberg is supposed to be one of the toughest guys in the history of sports entertainment, but this time he couldn't continue due to a leg injury, and the selling was lousy, by the way.

It was a stupid ending only for Bobby Lashley and Goldberg to have a rematch at Crown Jewel, which thankfully was much better.
8 Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler Vs. Bianca Belair & Sasha Banks – Elimination Chamber 2021
For some inexplicable reason, WWE made SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks and number one contender Bianca Belair look weak and silly against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Reginald's involvement was simply stupid, adding nothing to the match or the storyline, while another weak performance from Nia Jax hurt the match.
It's because of horrible matches like this one that the Women's Tag Team division is the worst in all of WWE, hands down.
7 Becky Lynch Vs Bianca Belair – SummerSlam 2021
Speaking of making the SmackDown Women's Champion look weak, there's the infamous SummerSlam incident. Bianca Belair was supposed to defend the title against Sasha Banks, but the latter never showed up so Carmella would be the replacement.
But then Becky Lynch made a shocking return and challenged Bianca Belair. Everyone thought they were going to see an amazing match, but The Man defeated the EST in 26 seconds to end her reign in the worst possible way and ruin her momentum. This was one of the worst WWE booking decisions of the year.
6 Big E Vs. Apollo Crews – Fastlane 2021
This match was going great, great spots executed perfectly, good sequences and good psychology, but what on earth happened at the end? Apollo covered Big E, who managed to get his shoulders off the canvas before the three-count ended, but still the bell rang and the match was over.
Worst of all, Big E retained the Intercontinental title without any explanation. Nobody knows what happened, but the truth is that it was probably the worst WWE botch of 2021.
5 Women’s Tag Team Turmoil – WrestleMania 37
Natalya and Tamina, Carmella and Billie Kay, the Riott Squad and Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose faced off in a Tag Team Turmoil match to determine the number one contender to the Women's Tag Team Titles.
Admittedly, it felt like Natalya and Tamina won this match before it even started, as it was too predictable that they would win. As for the in-ring action, it was very bad, there were a couple of obvious botches, and overall, very weak performances. This match was simply mediocre.
4 Alexa Bliss Vs Eva Marie – SummerSlam 2021
Alexa Bliss and Eva Marie flopped at SummerSlam 2021, but it wasn't entirely their fault, as WWE insisted on running the match around Lily, Alexa's doll. Perhaps WWE used Lily so much for commercial purposes, but the fans were already tired of it.

Fortunately, the match lasted just under four minutes, because if fans saw Eva Marie slap Lily or use the doll to slap Alexa Bliss for any longer, they were surely going to start booing.
3 Alexa Bliss Vs. Shayna Baszler – Hell In A Cell 2021
This time Alexa Bliss’ gimmick went too far, at Hell In A Cell 2021 against Shayna Baszler. This match generated high expectations, as Shayna Baszler is not afraid of anything and would be a great opponent for the supernatural Alexa Bliss. However, the match turned out to be terrible.
The only cool thing was Shayna's submission holds, which seemed to put Alexa in trouble. Up to that point the match was acceptable, but then Reginald got involved, Alexa hypnotized Nia Jax to slap Reginald and the whole thing turned into a bad joke.
2 Randy Orton Vs. The Fiend – WrestleMania 37
Once again, WWE's supernatural storylines suck. The whole storyline between Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss and the Fiend was very odd, but this match at WrestleMania 37 made no sense at all.
The Fiend came back from being burned alive, showing how powerful he is, yet he was defeated after inexplicably getting distracted by Alexa Bliss and receiving an RKO from Orton. Also, the match as such was very boring. Now that we know that Alexa's distraction led to nothing, it's harder to understand WWE's booking.
1 Damian Priest Vs. The Miz – WrestleMania Backlash
This was undoubtedly the worst WWE PPV Match of 2021. Certainly, this is entertainment, but people want to see actual wrestling, not an absurd zombie Lumberjack match. This is one of the most nonsensical things WWE has done in recent history, and that's saying something.
This was all just to promote the Army of the Dead movie, in which Batista is the star. In the end, Damian Priest defeated The Miz, who was "devoured" by the zombies.
