10 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About Becky Lynch
WWE has brilliantly made Becky Lynch one of the most important talents in the company. Lynch spent years honing her craft and building a reputation before finally getting a big opportunity in a top spot. The women’s division becoming such a pivotal part of the show saw Becky breaking out to help usher in change.

Time will tell where Lynch eventually ends her career all-time on historic lists, but she already has a rich legacy while still in her prime. Becky becoming such a hot name has led to countless conversations and talking points about her career. Unfortunately, not everything is always accurate when shared. The following things are often wrong regarding Lynch in WWE.
10 WWE Didn't Push Her As Hard As Charlotte Flair & Sasha Banks
The start of WWE making changes to enhance the women’s division featured Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch all getting called up from NXT at the same time. Fans believed that WWE viewed Charlotte and Sasha on a higher level to harm Becky’s start.

However, WWE did a good job keeping Lynch hot as well. WrestleMania 32 featured Becky added to the huge women’s title match with Charlotte and Sasha having a bigger feud setting it up. WWE even intentionally drafted Lynch as the first woman to Smackdown in the 2016 and her win gold there.
9 Flopped As First Smackdown Women's Champion
The brand split of 2016 required some new titles being made so that both Raw and Smackdown would have their respective champs of each division. WWE introduced the Smackdown Women’s Championship when Charlotte Flair kept the previous title with her when drafted to Raw.
Becky Lynch was the first pick of WWE to win a multi-women match to become the first-ever Smackdown Women’s Champion. Fans often view it as a failed title reign due to how fast she lost it. Becky was quite popular with the audience and had strong matches, but Vince McMahon was just a stronger supporter of Alexa Bliss at the time.
8 Still Has Heat With Ric Flair
The real-life heat between Becky Lynch and Ric Flair has quite a few layers in play. Charlotte Flair’s friendship with Becky and Ric managing her led to all three traveling together and being tight for a while at the start of the ladies’ WWE careers.
However, a falling out between Becky and Charlotte led to Ric ending any love for Lynch by trying to sue WWE over her using “The Man” moniker. There was a lot of tension between both sides until Flair recently revealed that he apologized to Lynch backstage at a WWE event, and they made peace.
7 Received A Major NXT Push
WWE often branches all members of the Four Horsewomen together when discussing their time in NXT. Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley have all had great moments becoming major stars in the wrestling industry.
An interesting tidbit that flies under the radar is that Lynch was never pushed as hard as the other three. There was one noteworthy singles match for Becky challenging Sasha, but she was mostly a sidekick otherwise. All other three ladies won the NXT Women’s Championship and had the division booked around them.
6 She Was A Tweener During Start Of "The Man" Run
The character change of Becky Lynch becoming “The Man” after betraying Charlotte Flair created a lot of confusion. Fans cheered Lynch attacking Flair after Charlotte won the Smackdown Women’s Championship since they felt like Becky was robbed.
WWE had Lynch cutting fully heel promos blaming the audience as a traditional heel. Many people remember this as a tweener character since Becky still got cheered and came off. However, WWE clearly wanted to turn Lynch heel by even having her mock Edge’s neck injury before realizing fans loved her too much to boo.
5 Squashing Bianca Belair Hurt Her
Becky Lynch returned from her absence after giving birth at SummerSlam 2021 to squash Bianca Belair and win the Smackdown Women’s Championship. This did feel like a horrible decision in the moment to have a rising star like Belair losing her first title in embarrassing fashion.

A heel turn for Becky saw her tremendous work making the story a success. Belair having to win a title shot and defeating Lynch at WrestleMania 38 created a full circle payoff of redemption. The current status of Bianca as such a star proves that the overall story helped her in the long term.
4 Beating Shayna Baszler Ruined Her Push
One of the strangest feuds of Becky Lynch’s career came against Shayna Baszler heading into WrestleMania 36. WWE called up Baszler from NXT and had her win a title shot to face the top female star on the biggest stage.
Fans often blame the loss to Becky as why Shayna has flopped on the main roster compared to her NXT success. However, reports surfaced before that Vince McMahon lost faith in Baszler due to weak crowd reactions. It didn’t help that Shayna started biting Lynch’s like a vampire as her main character actions.
3 WWE Booked Terrible Finish For Her WrestleMania 35 Win
The biggest accomplishment of Becky Lynch’s career so far was being the first woman to win a WrestleMania main event. Lynch made history along with her opponents Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey with both women’s titles on the line at WrestleMania 35.
Unfortunately, a feel good moment was a bit tampered due to the botched finish confusing fans. WWE getting blamed for the ending turned out to be a little unfair. Rousey has since confirmed she was supposed to kick out of that awkward pin ending and that it was her fault.
2 Fans Turned On Seth Rollins Because Of Their Couple Angle
WWE made a huge mistake trying to place the real life couple of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch together after each won the top titles on Raw. Both champs having weak feuds with Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans caused WWE to merge them in hopes of fans caring more.
There is a belief that this is why fans started to boo Rollins and ruin his babyface run, but that isn’t true. Rollins losing the belt back to Brock Lesnar via MITB started that shift afterwards. It was the next title reign with weak feuds against Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt that doomed him.
1 Hostile Relationship With Ronda Rousey
The feud between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey led to many fans thinking they genuinely hate each other. Rousey and Lynch did quite personal during their 2018-2019 feud with the war of words on social media coming off tense.
There was some real heat over Becky insulting Ronda’s husband, but it wasn’t anything crazy enough to lead to a real fight. The duo is friendly today losing any previous drama or tension between each other. WWE’s backstage footage of WrestleMania 39 even showed them having a supportive exchange.
