10 Things About Scott Hall & Kevin Nash's TNA Runs That Made No Sense
The careers of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are always linked together since they were best friends in real life for such a long time. Hall and Nash worked closely together in WWE, WCW, TNA and a few other smaller promotions throughout the years. TNA hoped that having bigger names like Hall and Nash would lead to their growth.

Unfortunately, the plans for Nash and Hall never went exactly as planned with many odd moments along the way. TNA trying to improve their name value led to things for Hall and Nash just providing confusion to the audience and even the talents involved. The following things about the Outsiders in TNA just didn’t make sense in the bigger picture.
10 Kings In Wrestling Faction Takeover Angle
TNA tried to start a new era off with a bang when they advertised Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as appearing at their first-ever live three-hour PPV. The ladder match main event between Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy featured the story of fans having to wonder which wrestler would get help from Nash and Hall.

A predictable heel turn saw the Outsiders aligning with Jarrett to form the Kings of Wrestling trio. TNA portrayed it like they wanted to take over the company like the same names involved did in the New World Order during the WCW time. This made little sense given how Jarrett was in management and the other two were advertised big time by TNA.
9 Scott Hall Was Marketed Like Face Of The Company Before First Show
Scott Hall getting released by WWE before Kevin Nash during the New World Order reunion led to him being a free agent in time for TNA’s launch. Jeff Jarrett and crew wasted no time having Hall involved as a big name that they marketed in the promotional pieces.
Don West trying to sell fans on the first PPV-ever weekly PPV and Hall being shown with a few other names were all fans knew about TNA if seeing the ads on television. Hall didn’t even last beyond a few months in his first TNA stint to show little it made sense to market him as a face of the brand that early.
8 Kevin Nash Aligning With Sting As Tweeners Against Hulk Hogan
One of the strangest storylines for Kevin Nash in TNA featured him playing a tweener character aligned with Sting and D’Angelo Dinero. Sting apparently turned heel when he started attacking babyface Hulk Hogan and claiming he was there to ruin TNA.
Nash aligning with Sting provided more confusion as he’d have seemed more loyal to Hogan than Sting in the grand scope of his career. TNA did eventually prove Sting, Nash and Dinero right when Hulk revealed he was a heel all along manipulating Dixie Carter into giving him power.
7 Teasing A Feud Against Each Other That Never Came
WCW failed when trying to have a major feud between Kevin Nash and Scott Hall after their tag team run ended. TNA foolishly tried to do the same thing by setting up tension when Hall returned while Nash was now a full-time roster member to confront him.
Hall claimed that Nash didn’t have his back throughout his personal issues and only looked out for himself. Nash defended himself saying he focused on the business while Hall focused on partying. TNA never booked a big match against them to make this feud stranger as they reunited as a team with Samoa Joe as the payoff here.
6 Scott Hall Returning With Insane Clown Posse
TNA eventually cut bait with Scott Hall every time they tried to bring him back in for a longer run due to the issues always coming into play. Hall ended up in a controversial moment when the Insane Clown Posse attended a show in the crowd as a way to promote their own wrestling promotion.
Rumors indicated that TNA approved that to help ICP out since they were always supporters of any noteworthy wrestling company. However, no one knew that Hall would be appearing with them about a year after he no showed his last TNA match. Fans were just confused about what the point of it all was.
5 Using TNA's Version Of MITB To Win Tag Titles Together
TNA tried to copy WWE a little too much when coming up with the Feast or Fired briefcases as their own version of Money in the Bank. Four different wrestlers would win briefcases with three containing title shots to be cashed in at any time and one with a pink slip firing the last winner.

Kevin Nash won a briefcase for the TNA Tag Team Championship title shot right ahead of time in The Band. The duo of Nash and Hall won the titles by cashing in on a weakened Matt Morgan. TNA having a briefcase for three different titles took away from anyone that actually used it since it felt like overkill.
4 Kevin Nash Becoming Therapist For Kurt & Karen Angle
TNA started to run out of roles for Kevin Nash when they made him play a couples’ therapist for Kurt and Karen Angle. The goal was to have comedic backstage segments of Dr. Nash offering his advice to Kurt and Karen on how to fix their marriage woes at the time.
Nash felt extremely out of place in an angle that skewed a little too far towards the lunacy of wrestling comedy than actually benefiting from the character. The only positive from this was setting up a history between Kurt and Kevin before their time together in the Main Event Mafia.
3 Eric Young Joining The Band
The final chance of Scott Hall in TNA saw him and X-Pac reuniting with Kevin Nash as The Band playing into their New World Order days. Eric Young feuded with them after Nash betrayed him to end their previous tag team in favor of his longtime best friends having one more run with him.
Fans were reacting well to Young as a face feuding with The Band, but TNA opted to go with the pointless swerve of him turning heel to join them. Nash talking Young into reuniting made some sense. However, Young felt forced into the role as part of the Freebird rules wrestling with Nash and the others in tag matches.
2 Scott Hall Being Teased In Booker T's Debut Mystery Spot
TNA used Scott Hall’s name as a red herring for a mystery partner spot when Sting had an unknown person at his side to face Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle. Sting claiming it was someone from Nash’s past led to both Nash and Angle naming Hall as the person they expected it to be.
This was all a set up to add to the surprise of Booker T’s debut teaming with Sting against Angle and Nash. Hall looked bad having his name used as a weaker option as TNA didn’t fear fans getting disappointed when it wasn’t him as the reveal.
1 Kevin Nash Picked To Main Event First Bound For Glory PPV
TNA pushed Kevin Nash as an occasional main eventer, but it became clear he wasn’t going to be one of the faces of the company as his run went on. Bound for Glory debuted in 2005 as TNA’s biggest PPV and was meant to have the feel of their annual version of WrestleMania.
Nash being picked as the first main event babyface against Jeff Jarrett on that show lacked logic given he wasn’t the same star from his WCW or earlier WWE years. A real-life health concern with Nash’s heart removed him from the match and had the likely better ending of Rhino winning three matches, including the main event over Jarrett to become NWA Heavyweight Champion.
