10 Shortest Matches In WWE History

Of course, the WWE doesn't want their die-hard fans to buy tickets, drive out, pay for parking, maybe even a babysitter to only watch their favorite wrestler fight for a couple of minutes. But sometimes the imbalance between two fighters is so disparate and so extreme, that the match naturally only lasts a few seconds. Some WWE matches last for what seems like an eternity. Nail-biters, where one fighter just can't seem to edge out the other end up being among the greatest matches in history. On the other hand, some of the most dramatic WWE matches are the ones that end in the blink of an eye. All because one fighter absolutely overwhelms and overpowers the other. Here are ten of the shortest WWE matches in history, all of which when combined are still shorter than Undertaker's entrance.

10 Great Khali vs Damien Sandow

Mr. Big Time, Damien Sandow entered the ring dressed in a silly pink suit and a Vince McMahon impersonation. He stood absolutely no chance against Great Khali. Lasting roughly 6 seconds, the Great Khali hits Sandow with a devastating overhead chop that sends him to the floor, arguably resulting in Khali's greatest ever match and Sandow's most embarrassing one to date. Walking out of the ring after a heartbreaking loss is a tough task for any fighter, but after a particularly embarrassing loss like this one, Sandow left with his head hung low.

9 Kofi Kingston vs Brian Kendrick

Spanky, The Brian Kendrick, or simply Brian Kendrick was so distracted arguing with Brian Lawler on the side of the ring, that he didn't hear the referee's repeated attempts at warning him that the match was about to begin. The Brian Kendrick then even missed the bell entirely. Kingston, who was paying full attention, absolutely rocked Kendrick with a trouble in paradise kick that sent Kendrick to the ground, which embarrassingly enough, was his last match in the WWE for six years. The match lasted an entire 11 seconds.

8 Hawkins vs Ziggler

It's satisfying to see how the overconfident and cocky often end up the most embarrassed. Before the match begins, Hawkins keeps his back to his opponent and refuses to know exactly who it is he is fighting. Rather than going at his match with a certain style or approach, Hawkins leaps towards Nicky Ziggler and gets ended with a kick to the face. Ending in roughly 8 seconds, the match is a career low for Brian Majors.

7 Kane vs Chavo Guerrero

If you looked away from your TV or from the ring for a second, you'd have missed about half the match. Timing in at 11 seconds, this match is one of the most memorable in history. While Lieutenant Loco was distracted hyping up the crowd, Kane emerged from under the ring and attacked just as the bell rang. Guerrero had little time to realize what was happening before he and his neck were under the hold of the massive barbarian claws that are Kane's hands. Kane picks up Chavo above his seven-foot tall frame and slams him down into the ring for an immediate victory.

6 Rowan vs Rock

Two massive men, one ring, and one surprisingly quick match. If you'd ask any WWE fan or expert who they'd think would take the match before this fight, odds are it'd be a pretty even split. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches, Thoruf Marius Rowan stared intensely into the 6 foot 4 Rock's eyes. This alone made for an exciting pre-game. But just as the bell rings, Samoan Flex Kavana runs full speed into Rowan, knocks him down and pins him in a total of four seconds. Rowan didn't even know what happened until it was over. There's many things The Rock still hasn't done in the WWE, but taking out a 6'8" man in four seconds in not one of those things.

5 Diesel vs Bob Backlund

In an eagerly anticipated match at Madison Square Garden, Diesel and Backlund faced off in what was at the time, the fastest match in WWE history. Backlund came off of a championship match just three days before this one, faced off with Diesel who started the match off with a quick kick which led into his jackknife powerbomb finisher for the win. The match lasted a quick 8 seconds and Backlund who had the belt for only three days lost it. What an embarrassing way to lose the title.

4 Aksana vs Natalya

[gallery columns="1" ids="895976"]

Just as the bell rings and the match begins, Natalya asks for "one minute" to the referee who doesn't pause the match. Natalya then runs over to her side of the ring and shouts at her fans, "WHERE ARE YOU?" She had no clue Aksana was coming for her, wrapping her up and slamming her in a spine bending slam. Natalya, in a state of utter disbelief gets up and argues with the referee saying she demanded a minute, but the match was over and she was pinned. One common thread throughout these easy-to-miss matches is the mistake of a fighter being distracted or caught up with hyping up the fans. Such a little mistake can lead to massive repercussions.

3 Maven vs Benjamin

Another wonderfully sweet example of trash talkers losing it all. Maven started this match with the unbelievably iconic and memorable line towards Shelton Benjamin and Trish. "You and Trish do have one thing in common. You both have a title and neither of you have a set of huevos." Benjamin infuriated, runs into the ring and slams Maven into submission in a matter of seconds. All in all, Maven's delivery of his mediocre trash talk lasted longer than he did against Benjamin in the ring.

2 Big Boss Man vs Rock

I think nearly every WWE fan is familiar with the oddity and obscurity that was this match. Originally, the match was intended to be between The Rock and Triple H, but after Hunter failed to show up, Big Boss man took his place. Big Boss Man jogged up to what was about to be the most embarrassing match of his life and as he rolled in, The Rock rolled him right up and ended the match in a quick three seconds, setting a WWE record. It was probably the right move for Triple H to stay home.

1 Nidia vs Trish Stratus

Quite possibly the only example in this list where the trash-talking fighter actually ends up winning. Trish Stratus was mic'd up with a cast on her wrist. Yet, she got into Nidia's face, looked her in the eyes and with a deadpan face said, "You and I [pause] will be facing each other. I mean [pause] when I'm ready." Then she rocks Nidia with a rule-breaking cheapshot that sends Nidia to the floor before the match even begins, resulting in one of Trish's all-time most infamous matches. Trish wraps her broken hands around Nidia's knocked-out legs and pins her as the bells rings, resulting in what may forever remain the fastest match in WWE history.
