10 Pairs Of Twins In Wrestling History, Ranked Worst To Best

Twins in wrestling are just like twins in the real world - unique and rare humans. About 1.1 percent out of one hundred human births results in one set of twins or another. Over the decades, the professional wrestling world has seen its fair of that 1.1 percent. While some bookers aren’t keen on tag teams that cause them to have pay four guys for one match instead of two, twin acts are a different story.

Sure, they still have to pay two people instead of one, but the act is stronger only because of the intrigue of twins that we all have intrinsically. It is as the old Double-Mint commercial used to advertise - double your pleasure, double your fun.

10 The Tate Twins

Spending the last year traversing the Independent scene, Brandon and Brent Tate got their start in OVW and even worked for Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force against The Best Friends. But their biggest claim to fame are working with Dalton Castle in Ring Of Honor.

As his boys, the Tates were able to capture the ROH Six Man titles on two separate occasions.

9 The McGuire Twins

Two of the largest men to have ever entered the squared circle were Billy and Benny, The McGuire Twins. Trained by Gory Guerrero, the massive men certainly weren’t considered good workers by any stretch of standards.

But for their time (and this time), they were certainly a sight to behold - even if just one of them work in the business. Both of them did of course and were the Guinness world record holders at one time for being The World’s Largest Twins. No pun intended, but they were a pretty big attraction throughout the territories during the seventies.

8 The Klimaszewski Twins

The Bella Twins might owe a lot of their big break in the business to the fact that Vince never signed The Klimaszewski Twins. If he had, then they would have debuted first, and it might have been hard to gain traction as the second set of twins.

Diane and Elaine had a few acting assignments before coming to WCW during the late nineties as Loli and Pop, friends of Big Vito. They also were part of the Nitro Girls as Silver and Gold.

7 The Cole Twins

The Cole Twins WCW

Keith and Kent Cole missed out of the mid-90s wrestling boom period, but before that were “good little hands,” working with several tag teams throughout the WCW midcard. They worked on the big WCW shows at the time - Power Hour and Saturday Night against other midcard and upper tier teams like Harlem Heat and Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce, later known as The Godwinns.

Keith Cole also has the distinction of being the first victim of Jean-Paul Levesque in WCW.

6 The Headhunters

Vader Vs Headhunters WWE

New York natives Manuel and Victor Santiago were trained by Johnny Rodz before setting forth to make their wrestling fortunes. After spending some time in ECW, Japan, and CMLL, the made a guest appearance at the 1996 Royal Rumble as The Squat Team and several other appearances with Jim Cornette as their manager. While Vince might like big guys, these two were far too lumbering to keep on the roster.

5 The Shane Twins

Getting their start at the very first weekly TNA PPV and manager by Mortimer Plumtree, Mike and Todd Shane debuted under flesh colored outfits and masks and were dubbed The Johnsons. The effort to show how…different TNA was going to be from WWE got the twins the NWA/TNA tag titles.

They would then move onto WWE where they’d align with Simon Dean as his fitness fanatic duo, The Gymini.

4 The Harris Twins

The Blu Brothers. Skull and 8-Ball. Creative Control. The Harris Brothers have the unique distinction of being the only set of twins to have worked in WWE, WCW, ECW, and TNA.

The towering twins also worked behind the scenes in TNA, and various music groups as roadies and tour managers - including rap superstar, The Macho Man. Nowadays, they co-own operate the Indy Fed Aro Lucha.

3 The Hebners

Twin Referees WWE

For years Dave Hebner worked for WWE and his brother Earl was a referee for Jim Crockett Productions. As Dave started to transition to more of a backstage role, Earl left JCP and headed Up North to be with his brother.

The would go on to partake in one of the best angles of all time - The Twin Referees angle. Years later, they were let go by the company for selling WWE Merchandise. Earl did continue to work for years with TNA and later AEW afterwards.

2 The Usos

The Usos Tag Champs WWE

Jimmy and Jey Uso have been a part of the WWE for over a decade and thanks to The Bloodline storyline have really hit their stride in the past few years and established themselves as the top tag team in WWE, and not just because of their longest reigning Undisputed Tag Team title run.

The brothers have shown they can pull off great character work and have match of year candidates with any team at any time, every night.

1 The Bellas

The Bella Twins in WWE

The only reason that The Usos aren’t number one is because of the crossover appeal of Nikki and Brie. Where there was zero opportunity during The Ruthless Aggression Era, they created opportunity not just for themselves, but for all the Divas.

Thanks to Total Divas, more and different sets of eyes got on the WWE product and gained more fans. And yes, both twins were very underrated in the ring, mostly because they weren’t allowed the time to show off their skills. While the IWC might have mixed feelings about them, it's un-doubtable that their presence helped build something positive and the current Women's division does have the Bella twins, among others, for the success of the product today.
