10 NXT Wrestlers Who Should Get Called Up After WrestleMania 39

Although WWE’s main roster feels quite plentiful again after Triple H brought up many former superstars over the last year since heading up WWE creative, there is always room for more faces across both Raw and SmackDown and in their various divisions.

When looking at WWE’s developmental roster in NXT, there are several names who have both been there for quite a while and also those who have just emerged onto the scene who could well get a call-up in the near future, and in fact, are more than ready for that jump. NXT, despite its misgivings, does currently play host to some very promising talent who could bolster the main roster in a major way, especially after WrestleMania 39 this year.

10 Pretty Deadly

Pretty Deadly as champions Cropped

The Pretty Deadly tag team has such a unique factor to them that simply draws eyes to them. They feel like a duo who could star in WWE, and to do that in the tag team division is quite difficult in this particular company.

They are currently one of the main highlights of NXT, with strong in-ring work and insanely entertaining segments and characters. Pretty Deadly is main roster ready, and they would add more variety to the division.

9 Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov

In the current version of NXT, Ilja Dragunov doesn’t really fit. However, he has a lot of talent and promise, and he has an intensity that would work well on the main roster both as a babyface and as a heel.

After spending a long time in NXT UK and now in NXT, there isn’t much more for him to do or improve upon in developmental, and WWE should try their chances at a main roster run for him. Whether it be battling GUNTHER once again or even aligning with his former sworn enemies, there is use for him on Raw or SmackDown.

8 Roderick Strong

It doesn’t seem as though Roderick Strong is in NXT’s plans. As reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there are no plans for him right now.

However, as even just someone to help others look good, there is a place for Strong on the main roster. Much like people such as Johnny Gargano, Chad Gable, and others, great in-ring wrestlers are still needed to flesh out weekly TV and make matches exciting, and Strong can provide that.

7 Dragon Lee

Dragon Lee

Although Dragon Lee has only just joined NXT, he is someone too good to remain in developmental for long.

NXT should be a pit stop for Lee, and he needs to figure into the main roster following WrestleMania. With the likely retirement of Rey Mysterio in the distance, there is space for a new masked wrestler to make a name for themselves on Raw or SmackDown.

6 Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton hasn’t been wrestling for long, but she is already one of the most promising talents in the entirety of NXT. Her promo work is strong, she is a convincing character, and her in-ring work has been improving by the week.

It isn’t often that super young names make it out of NXT early, but the main roster needs these sorts of fresh new faces on Raw and SmackDown. Back in the day, the likes of Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar burst onto the scene at under 25 years old, and this needs to be the norm, especially if the wrestlers are as promising as Stratton.

5 Creed Brothers

Much like Pretty Deadly, the Creed Brothers offer a lot when it comes to bolstering the tag team division on Raw and SmackDown, though they are also unique to themselves.

They have proven to be a great part of NXT, with a lot of intensity, excitement, and punch, and the pair feel as though they are more than ready for the main roster at this point. A call-up should certainly happen after WrestleMania.

4 Cameron Grimes

Cameron Grimes has been in NXT for way too long. Back in the days before “2.0”, it already felt like Grimes had a gimmick that was main roster ready, but instead, he was stripped back and booked poorly for over a year.

It is high time that WWE finally utilizes his talents on Raw and SmackDown, bringing back his former character that brought so much love from the fans. He is an infectious talent when given the chance, and he needs a main roster call-up after WrestleMania 39.

3 Indi Hartwell

Indi Hartwell has spent quite a long time in NXT at this point, and she is someone who feels a little lost since all of her stablemates in The Way all moved to the main roster.

Hartwell needs to join the fold and reunite with Dexter Lumis after WrestleMania, which was an electric act in NXT. She would also add another name to the women’s division, which at times does still feel a little empty.

2 Carmelo Hayes

Out of everyone in NXT right now, Carmelo Hayes receives the biggest plaudits. He is the full package, showcasing an unreal amount of charisma and displaying brilliant in-ring work. When looking at this current version of NXT, he feels like someone who perfectly blends the black & gold era with this new one.

Hayes is overdue a call-up to the main roster, though it does seem like he could be set for an NXT Championship win at the upcoming Stand & Deliver show, which could delay his ascent to the big time for a little longer.

1 Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker has been NXT Champion for nearly a year, with him leading the brand for quite some time longer too. Ever since he first stepped foot in NXT, he held an instant presence and natural aura.

His momentum may have subsided due to some poor booking in recent times, but a refresh on the main roster after WrestleMania 39 is exactly what he needs. He was someone who fans spoke about as a potential candidate to dethrone Roman Reigns not too long ago, and whilst it may feel a little far-fetched now, everyone can see his upside.
