10 Funniest New Day Moments, Ranked
When Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E -- three undervalued wrestlers -- formed The New Day, nobody could have expected that the trio would soon become one of the hottest acts in World Wrestling Entertainment, becoming incredibly huge with crowds and selling tons of merch. We knew they were great wrestlers, but it turns out that, as a trio, they have an electric chemistry -- and they’re hilarious.

There are so many funny New Day moments in WWE history -- promos, backstage segments, moves, live appearances -- that it hurts to choose, but we worked through the pain and wrote about the ten best ones. So you better like them, or we’ll be sad..
10 The Pancake Save
It feels like a legal requirement to include this moment, so let’s get it out of the way. One of the many highlights of the Royal Rumble involves Kofi Kingston pulling off a ridiculous save to avoid elimination from the match, which he’s done several years in a row. It’s usually as athletic as it is funny, but in 2018 it was closer to the latter.
Kingston was in danger of being eliminated, but miraculously ended up landing with one foot on the floor and the other on Xavier Woods’ chest. The ensuing save not only involves a plate of pancakes, but also Kingston really taking advantage of the Royal Rumble’s rule that both feet have to touch the floor.
9 “Save The Tables”
The New Day has big memetic value, even back when they were heels and fans hadn’t yet realized that they were awesome. When they were feuding with the Dudley Boyz -- during their nostalgia run when it was just a countdown to “D-Von, get the tables” -- The New Day adopted a staunch anti-table-breaking platform, adapting their “New, Day Rocks” chant to “Save, the Tables.”
It was very funny, but it took on new life on NXT when the crowd would chant “Save, The Gable” while Chad Gable was getting beat up. Powerful stuff, while it lasted.
8 Thigh Meat
Now that we’re thinking of it, heel New Day was the best. Big E and Kofi Kingston would be in the ring for tag matches and Xavier Woods would march around ringside, playing the trombone and shouting nonsense for the benefit of the front row and audience at home. It’s totally obnoxious, but also hilarious.

If we had to choose one highlight, it would be Xavier Woods shouting about Big E’s thigh meat during a Unicorn Stampede. And Woods was right -- Big E’s thighs are as big as his pecs, and that’s worth shouting about.
7 Big E Channels Booker T
We all know about Booker T’s infamous promo on Hulk Hogan, right? It’s one of the great on-air flubs in the history of wrestling, wherein Harlem Heat cuts a promo and Booker T addresses Hogan using some language… uh… let’s just say it’s not appropriate for television and leave it at that.
For some reason, during their 2017 feud with The Usos, The New Day decided to shout out that moment during a random promo as Big E gets dangerously close to getting himself fired and Xavier Woods practically dives in to interrupt.
6 The Time Machine Promo
For the five minutes that WWE’s main roster took The Vaudvillains seriously -- remember them? -- they feuded with The New Day over a simple premise: The Vaudvillains wanted to harken back to “a bygone era,” and The New Day wasn’t so sure that was a good idea.
A fun feud with a surprisingly racial subtext, but the highlight was a promo where the trio literally entered a New Day-lorean time machine and popped out for various time travel gags. The most meta bit has Kofi Kingston doing his old fake Jamaican accent and exclaiming “2009 was my best year!”
5 “The List”
The New Day’s podcast, Feel the Power, is a real treat -- the trio are as fun as ever but are also willing to give listeners a peak behind the scenes and be as frank as they can about what it was like getting their group off the ground -- provided they don’t mention Vince McMahon by name.

The most entertaining of these discussions happens in the second episode as they read through “The List,” a compendium of all the potential names WWE creative pitched to the three. They’re almost entirely awful and a few are actually kind of racist, but The New Day has fun clowning on what feels like an endless series of lazy ideas.
4 Booty-Os
The most underrated bit of New Day’s run as heels was when they’d describe things they didn’t like as “booty.” It didn’t catch on the way it should have, but we recommend using it in normal conversation whenever possible. However, New Day parlayed the catchphrase into a novelty cereal called Booty-Os, which is weird because why would you eat anything themed after a butt?
Somehow it became a real cereal you could buy, which New Day would bring ringside and pour into people’s mouths, and they even incorporated it into one of their Wrestlemania entrances. Think about it for long enough and it becomes one of the weirder aspects of New Day’s history.
3 Gift Exchange with The Iiconics
If there’s anyone The New Day -- a trio of obnoxious men -- should spend the maximum amount of screentime with, it’s the Iiconics, who are loud, obnoxious Australian women. They’re all perfect, and for no reason other than obvious entertainment value decided to record a nearly 15 minute video of the five of them exchanging Christmas gifts that include such oddities as novelty oven mitts, a fishbowl, and a full-size kangaroo costume.
It’s the kind of holiday content you’ll want to watch every year with your friends, extended family, co-workers, acquaintances, bartenders, strangers on the street, and anyone else who values their time.
2 That Time Big E Ate Christian’s Kazoo
Hot take: Edge and Christian are the male Iiconics, except they’re annoying Canucks instead of annoying Australians. Scripture tells us that The New Day officially turned face when they feuded with The League of Nations in 2016, but they really, actually, truthfully turned face in this backstage segment from several months earlier when they were accosted by the Guyconics.

Edge and Christian try to out-funny The New Day by busting out a kazoo to compete with Xavier Wood’s trombone, but Big E establishes himself as an American folk hero by snatching Christian’s kazoo and eating it. That’s more of a good guy move than staging a run-in save during a group beat-down.
1 The Country Music Jamboree
This was New Day’s first anniversary celebration and an open challenge but trust us, nobody remembers that part. The important part is that the New Day decided to come out riding hobby horses with Big E wearing a comically small cowboy hat and talk about how much country music sucks in front of a Nashville, Tennessee crowd.
A brave thing to do, but what especially made it great was Kofi Kingston straight up breaking kayfabe to specify that it’s the real Kofi Kingston, not just his “character,” that hates country. But the most important part is finally we have a potent wrestling-based response to WCW's West Texas Redneck's single, “Rap is Crap.”
